Dr. Dasgupta had reported with a fractured upper bridge. On further evaluation, multiple missing teeth, retained root stumps, and severely decayed teeth were detected that made rehabilitation challenging.
With multiple medical conditions, including Parkinson’s disease, a removable denture wasn’t an ideal option. Implant-supported rehabilitation was also not advisable because of his overall health. After careful planning, we decided on a full mouth rehabilitation using fixed partial dentures.
Over the next two months, the treatment involved:
• Multiple extractions of root stumps and non-restorable teeth
• Intentional root canal treatment of strategically important teeth
• Tooth preparation with necessary height corrections
• Fabrication and cementation of full-arch fixed partial dentures
The smile at the end was rewarding, but even more satisfying was seeing him regain the confidence to eat and function comfortably again.
