🩸 What is Insulin? And what is Hyperinsulinemia?

Think of insulin as a key 🔑 that helps glucose move from your bloodstream into your cells, where it can be used for energy.

When the body becomes less responsive to insulin (insulin resistance), the pancreas may produce more insulin to keep blood glucose under control.

This can lead to Hyperinsulinemia — higher-than-normal insulin levels in the blood.

⚠️ The interesting part?
Your blood sugar may still be normal while your body is already producing more insulin to maintain it.

One way to assess insulin levels is a fasting insulin test, usually interpreted along with fasting glucose and other metabolic markers.

🎯 Don’t just look at your sugar. Understand your metabolic health.

“I’m vegetarian… so how will I complete my protein requirement?” 🌱💪

A simple way to understand it 👇

For a healthy adult, a commonly used baseline is around 1 g protein/kg body weight/day. Your actual requirement can be higher depending on age, activity level, training, and health goals.

For example, a vegetarian diet can include:

🥛 1 scoop whey → ~24 g protein
🧀 100 g paneer → ~18 g
🌱 40 g soya → ~20 g

That’s already ~62 g protein.

And we haven’t even counted the protein coming from:
🥛 Milk
🥣 Curd
🍲 Dal
🍚 Rice
🌾 Roti/other grains
🥜 Nuts & seeds

Yes, many plant foods may be lower in one or more essential amino acids compared with high-quality protein sources. But eating a variety of protein sources throughout the day helps you obtain all the essential amino acids you need.

👉 Protein is not only about building muscles. It supports enzymes, hormones, immune function, tissues, blood proteins and overall body function.

So being vegetarian does NOT mean you have to struggle to meet your protein needs.

The key is: plan your protein, don’t just hope you get enough. 💪🌱

🪔 This Diwali, while we clean our homes, let’s not forget to clean up our lifestyle too.

We are removing old clutter, getting rid of things we no longer need, and making space for something new. ✨

But have you ever thought about doing the same for your body?

Because your body is your permanent home. ❤️

Just like clutter can accumulate in our homes, unhealthy habits can accumulate over time—and what we keep adding can take the form of cholesterol and sugar in our bodies:

🍟 Poor food choices
🥤 Excess processed foods
😴 Poor sleep
🪑 Physical inactivity
😓 Chronic stress

This Diwali, let’s make a fresh start.

❌ Let go of unhealthy habits
✅ Make space for better nutrition
💪 Move your body and build strength
😴 Prioritize sleep and recovery
🧘‍♀️ Manage stress
🌱 Build healthy habits that you can sustain for life

Because health is not something we clean up once a year. It is something we take care of every single day.

🪔 This Diwali, clean your home—but also take care of your most permanent home: YOUR BODY.

Healthy Enough to Prevent. Strong Enough to Recover. Fit Enough to Live Fully.

Sometimes, life teaches us lessons years later. ❤️

Today I’m sharing something very personal about my elder daughter, HRIDYA

HRIDYA was born with cerebral palsy. During my pregnancy, I had a thyroid problem that remained undetected, and at that time, I was unaware of how important maternal thyroid health is during pregnancy.

Today, while studying Preventive Healthcare, I have come to understand something that I wish I had known back then.

Thyroid hormones play an important role in a baby’s brain and nervous-system development, especially during pregnancy. Untreated or inadequately treated thyroid disorders in the mother can increase the risk of adverse pregnancy and neurodevelopmental outcomes.

I am not sharing this to blame myself or to say that thyroid was definitely the cause of Riddhya’s cerebral palsy. Cerebral palsy can have many causes, and in many cases, the exact cause cannot be identified.

I’m sharing my experience because awareness can sometimes prevent complications—or help us identify and manage risks much earlier.

If you are planning a pregnancy or are already pregnant, please don’t ignore your thyroid health. Get appropriate screening, follow your doctor’s advice, and keep your thyroid levels monitored when indicated.

What I understood only years later, I want other mothers to know today.

Prevention begins with awareness.
And sometimes, awareness begins with sharing our own story.

🥚 Protein is NOT just for building muscles! 💪

When we hear “protein,” we often think about muscle gain, gym, or bodybuilding. But protein is much more than that.

Protein is one of the fundamental building blocks of our body. It is involved in:

🔹 Muscle & tissue repair — supports strength, recovery and maintenance
🔹 Satiety — helps you feel fuller and manage hunger
🔹 Enzymes — many enzymes that drive essential chemical reactions are proteins
🔹 Hormones — many important hormones are protein or peptide-based
🔹 Blood & haemoglobin — haemoglobin contains a protein component essential for carrying oxygen
🔹 Immune function — antibodies are proteins that help protect us from infections
🔹 Growth & repair — essential throughout life, not only when you’re trying to build muscle

So protein isn’t a “gym nutrient.”
It is a life nutrient. ❤️

👉 Whether you’re a child, adult, senior, athlete, or simply trying to stay healthy, adequate protein matters.

Don’t ask only, “How much protein do I need for muscle?”
Ask, “Am I getting enough protein to support my whole body?”

Strong kids don’t just play—they build a future of strength. 💪🧒👧

A simple game of passing a 4 kg medicine ball while performing squats is doing much more than keeping them entertained.

✨ It develops:
• Functional strength
• Coordination & balance
• Core stability
• Teamwork
• Confidence in movement

When children learn to move well, they grow stronger—not just physically, but mentally too.

Let’s raise kids who are strong, capable, and fearless, not just screen-smart.

💙 Strong bodies. Sharp minds. Healthy futures.
