There’s so much that goes into a custom tattoo before it ever touches skin and every tattoo has a special story behind it.
Here’s the story for this one: start to finish. 🦋
It always starts with really listening — not just what the client is saying, but what they’re picturing. This time, it was about staying true to her daughter’s own drawing✨
The tattooing process is so important, it requires quiet careful work of getting every line to sit exactly right.
But before we even reach this stage, there’s several sketches that get scrapped, the back-and-forth, the small adjustments that make all the difference.
Fine lines, negative space, and just enough shading to give the botanicals depth without overpowering the delicacy.
Every leaf and petal was placed to keep the composition feeling light and organic, not overworked.
The final tattoo is actually the last 5% that people usually see… but everything before this slide is the 95% that gets us there.
