nobody really prepares you for is this
You will have to slow down more often than you ever imagined.
In the beginning, I resisted it.
I kept measuring myself against the version of me who could work longer hours, tick off endless to-do lists, and be productive whenever I wanted.
And honestly?
I spent a lot of time feeling frustrated about how “less productive” I had become.
But somewhere between the sleepless nights, feeding schedules, work calls, and endless laundry, I realized something important.
This is what motherhood is.
It’s not about doing everything at the same speed as before.
It’s about learning when to slow down and when to move forward.
It’s about understanding that there are only 24 hours in a day, and you don’t have to squeeze 48 hours worth of work into them.
It’s about having systems.
Planning ahead.
Asking for help.
Lowering the pressure you put on yourself.
And when you stop fighting this phase and start working with it, motherhood begins to feel beautiful again.
To every mother who feels like she’s behind in life
Maybe you’re not behind.
Maybe you’re just on a different route than the one you originally planned.
And that’s okay.
Because this journey wasn’t forced upon you.
You chose it.
And one day you’ll look back and realize that slowing down wasn’t the thing holding you back.
It was the thing that helped you enjoy the journey the most. ❤️
