Not all protein sources are created equal. 🥛🌱

When choosing a protein, it’s not just about how many grams of protein it contains — what matters is how well your body digests it, the quality of its amino acids, and whether it provides all the essential amino acids your body needs.

✨ Whey → highly digestible + complete amino acid profile
🌱 Soy → excellent complete plant protein
🌾 Pea + rice combinations → can complement each other to improve amino acid balance
🥜 Nuts & peanuts → nutritious, but shouldn’t be your only major protein source

The takeaway?
👉 Protein quality matters — but the best protein for you depends on your dietary preferences, goals, tolerance and overall diet.

At MIT-aahara | Creating Healthier Lives, we believe in choosing nutrition based on science, not trends.

Here is a simple, easy-to-understand breakdown of how different cookware materials interact with your food:
* Stainless Steel
* What it is: Durable and great for everyday cooking.
* What to watch out for: Small amounts of nickel and chromium can leak into acidic foods if you cook them for a long time.
* Cast Iron
* What it is: A sturdy pan that naturally adds safe iron into your meals, especially when cooking moist or acidic dishes.
* What to watch out for: The exact amount of iron transferred depends on the food type and cooking time.
* Enameled Cast Iron
* What it is: Cast iron coated with a porcelain enamel layer.
* What to watch out for: The coating creates a safe barrier so food doesn’t touch the raw iron, as long as the enamel stays intact.
* Glass
* What it is: A very safe, food-grade material that does not react with your food.
* What to watch out for: Perfect for baking, cooking, and storing, provided you use it within safe temperature ranges.
* Ceramic
* What it is: Great for cooking when manufactured properly.
* What to watch out for: Poorly regulated ceramic glazes can release harmful metals like lead or cadmium, so quality matters.
* Non-Stick Cookware
* What it is: Modern PTFE-coated pans that are safe for normal use.
* What to watch out for: Never overheat an empty pan, as extreme temperatures can damage the coating and release fumes.
* Aluminum
* What it is: A common cookware material that works well for regular cooking.
* What to watch out for: Acidic or salty foods can cause small amounts of aluminum to transfer into your food unless the pan is anodized or coated.
* Copper
* What it is: An exceptional conductor of heat.
* What to watch out for: Unlined copper can leach excess copper into acidic foods. Always use copper cookware that has a safe inner lining.
Summary: There is no single “healthiest” material. Safety depends on the quality of the cookware, what you are cooking (such as acidic foods), how hot the pan gets, and how well you take care of it.

Rotten meat, expired milk & bakery items were seized at The Lalit Ashok, Radisson Blu, Taj Yeshwantpur, Four Seasons, Shangri-La & Vivanta. Here’s how you can protect yourself as a diner 👆 Save this for your next outing!
