The concept of Float Therapy was born in 2012 as a rejuvenating, modern addition to Iceland’s rich bathing culture, addressing the need for a sense of belonging and a profound connection to well-being.

Over time, independent float gatherings gained popularity, leading to the need for trained aquatic bodyworkers to facilitate and supervise float classes. Gradually, the philosophy behind Float Therapy evolved into a structured practice, and by 2018, it had developed into a comprehensive approach and methodology. This included a three-module training program to certify aquatic bodyworkers as skilled providers of high-standard therapeutic activities.

Check out www.floattherapy.is if you want to learn more about the concept and methodology of this aquatic bodywork technique.
