📸 Sliding Humeral Osteotomy (SHO) workshop: for the very first time in Italy, two days dedicated to advanced veterinary orthopaedic surgery, combining scientific knowledge, clinical discussion and hands-on training.
On 16-17 October, UNISVET hosted the Sliding Humeral Osteotomy (SHO) Workshop in Milan, a specialised course focused on one of the innovative surgical techniques for managing canine elbow dysplasia, particularly medial compartment disease.
Led by Prof. Filippo Maria Martini, Dr. Pedro Godinho and Dr. Andrea Bonardi, the workshop guided participants through the key aspects of SHO, from patient selection and preoperative planning to surgical technique and complication management.
Through clinical case evaluation, surgical planning exercises, drylab and wetlab sessions, participants had the opportunity to deepen their understanding of the procedure and strengthen their practical skills in veterinary orthopaedic surgery.
🤝 A special thanks to BETA, sponsor of the workshop, for providing the specialised instrumentation that supported the practical training sessions and hands-on learning experience.
