𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗔𝗡𝗗 𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁

The terms Research & Development (R&D) are often used as a pair, almost suggesting an overlap or a continuity that blurs their boundaries and areas of activity. That "&" can be a trap: it creates a link between two strategic elements that stem from very distinct premises.

𝗥𝗲𝘀𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗶𝘀 𝗱𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗯𝘆 𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗼𝘀𝗶𝘁𝘆. It takes many forms, from basic to applied research, but they all share the same impulse: someone is struck by a phenomenon or a question and sets out in search of an answer, to understand more deeply.

𝗗𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗹𝗼𝗽𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝗱𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗯𝘆 𝗱𝗲𝘀𝗶𝗿𝗲. It starts from a point, from an observation, and glimpses a direction: a goal that, in the eyes of those pursuing it, represents an improvement over the starting condition.

The "&" flattens and merges two different ways of engaging with reality, with the risk of diluting the distinctive traits of two profoundly different processes. The people who carry them out may also differ in their qualities, but all of them need a spirit of observation, humility, a desire for improvement, and rigor.

This is why we prefer to replace the "&" with an "AND". It is not simply a change of symbol: the "&" merges two words into an acronym, while "AND" places them side by side, allowing each to keep its own identity. In this way, "AND" becomes the meeting point of two ways of looking at reality, ways that, when well integrated, become the true strategic engine of a company.

𝗔𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗜𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲: 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗵𝗮𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗘𝘅𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲

In the years ahead, Artificial Intelligence won't be a choice: it will be a circumstance none of us can escape.

We're witnessing a revolution whose impact will exceed even that of the Industrial Revolution: an era that reshaped human anthropology and redrew the global order. Today, AI is doing the same on a personal and professional level alike. Soon, a product or service that isn't powered by AI will feel like the exception.

Medicine, scientific research, and medical devices are no exception. In fact, this may be where AI makes its greatest contribution, using algorithms to distill decades of clinical experience into tools available to everyone.

But this requires a fundamental shift in mindset. We must "𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘬 𝘪𝘯 𝘈𝘐", treating it not as a posthumous add-on, but as a genuine new industrial paradigm. And that demands clear strategies: long-term commitment, significant investment, trained talent, new skills, and certified data to feed the algorithms.

We won't be caught unprepared. For years, we've been working intensely to equip our technologies with AI-based solutions. Along the way, we've discovered something powerful: AI pushes everyone to raise the bar to imagine solutions and products that were previously unthinkable.

Being a leader means facing these challenges with awareness of our potential, but also with the humility to never feel "at the finish line."

This is the challenge for excellence. And it's one we intend to meet head-on.

📌 𝗧𝗛𝗗 𝗶𝗻 𝗧𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗮 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗔𝗦𝗖𝗥𝗦 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲

From 9 to 12 May 2026, the Tampa Convention Center hosted the Annual Scientific Meeting of the ASCRS, the American Society of Colon and Re**al Surgeons, one of the world's most authoritative scientific events for colore**al surgery and a**l disorders. THD attended as an official sponsor, bringing its innovative techniques to the heart of the American coloproctology community.

The ASCRS Annual Scientific Meeting is the leading North American congress dedicated to colore**al surgery, drawing thousands of specialists from around the world every year. THD's participation as a sponsor at the Tampa 2026 meeting marked a moment of strong international visibility for the company and its technologies, consolidating a position built over the years on clinical quality and continuous innovation.

Within the Innovation Center, the large exhibition space alongside the scientific programme, THD presented its techniques to hundreds of colore**al surgeons, offering hands-on demonstrations and opportunities for direct dialogue with the American and international professionals in attendance. It was a valuable occasion to give a high-profile audience a close-up look at THD's instruments.

👥🔬 Among the most significant moments of THD's participation in the congress was the Satellite Symposium dedicated to High-Resolution Anoscopy (HRA). A scientific event, organised on the sidelines of the main programme that brought together experts and clinicians to explore the state of the art of this technology in the diagnosis and treatment of a**l precancerous lesions.

HRA is today recognised internationally as the gold standard for the screening and management of a**l dysplasia, particularly in at-risk patients. The Satellite Symposium provided the opportunity to present the most recent clinical evidence, discuss practical cases and exchange views on the future prospects of this technique, with THD technology at the centre of the scientific debate.

THD's presence in this setting confirms the company's role not only as a manufacturer of medical devices, but as an active partner in international clinical research, capable of contributing concretely to the evolution of diagnostic and therapeutic practices in coloproctology.

🌟 Participation in ASCRS 2026 forms part of an increasingly structured international presence strategy, which sees THD playing a leading role at the world's most important industry congresses. Tampa represented a further step along this path: an opportunity to strengthen relationships with American opinion leaders, gather feedback directly from the field and continue positioning THD's techniques as the reference standard in modern coloproctological surgery.

𝗖𝗘𝗢 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀: 𝗧𝗛𝗗 𝟮.𝟬, 𝗮 𝗩𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗚𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗕𝗲𝘆𝗼𝗻𝗱 𝗕𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗲𝘀 🌐✨

The transition from THD to THD 2.0 is not just an organizational evolution:
it is a broader perspective, a vision that goes beyond the boundaries of coloproctology toward interconnected medical horizons.

Over 20 years of research, development and clinical presence, we have learned that many conditions are not limited to a single anatomical region.

The pelvic floor, a crossroads between the colon, urinary system and gynecology, is the perfect example.

This awareness guides us toward a new phase: extending our expertise to neighboring fields, with technological innovation and quality treatments that truly improve people's lives. 💡

We are not changing course, but evolving consistently: we listen to healthcare professionals, we observe and we learn.

The synergy between colore**al surgery, gynecology and urology becomes the fertile ground for integrated, personalized solutions. New collaborations with specialists emerge, shared research lines and tools designed for the complexity of the pelvic floor. 🔬

Our mission remains unchanged: the patient at the center. Today, however, with a broader view of the body's functional balance.

THD 2.0 brings to new fields the passion, rigor and innovation that have made it a globally recognized name.

Another step toward the future and innovation, with the patient always in first place.
