Ladies, this oneโ€™s for you. ๐Ÿ’œ

Breast cancer screening tips, and the biggest one is simple: know your body. You know it best.

Hereโ€™s what to keep in mind:
โœ”๏ธ Turning 40? Start a yearly mammogram to check for breast cancer
โœ”๏ธ Breast cancer in your family? Start screening 10 years earlier
โœ”๏ธ From age 30, do a self-breast exam once a month, at the same point in your cycle
โœ”๏ธ Notice a lump, a ni**le change, a skin change, or anything that wasnโ€™t there before? Go see Doc. Donโ€™t wait

Your risk goes up as you get older, and early checks make all the difference. Our team is here to walk with you every step of the way.

Heart racing or skipping a beat every now and then? A lot of us brush it off, but itโ€™s worth getting checked.

An electrocardiogram (ECG or EKG) is a quick, painless test that shows how your heart is functioning. Doc can use the results to spot things like heart attacks and irregular heartbeats, also called arrhythmias, so youโ€™re not left wondering.

If something feels off, or you just want peace of mind, come see us. Our team will walk you through it and help you figure out the next step.

If youโ€™ve ever wondered why one person bounces back in weeks while another takes months, youโ€™re not alone. Recovery looks different for everyone, and a few key things make the biggest difference.

Some injuries are simply more complex than others, and the tissues involved play a big part in how long healing takes. But thereโ€™s a lot you can do to support your body along the way, and staying connected with Doc and our team helps you do it safely.

Hereโ€™s what shapes your recovery:

โœ”๏ธ The Type of Injury: severity and the tissues affected can change how long healing takes
โœ”๏ธ Consistency With Your Exercises: your prescribed exercises help you rebuild strength, improve movement, and regain function
โœ”๏ธ Rest and Sleep: your body needs time to repair and adapt, so enough sleep and recovery between activities matter
โœ”๏ธ Following Your Treatment Plan: your plan should match your condition and progress, and professional guidance helps you work towards your goals safely

Not sure if your recovery is on track? Donโ€™t guess, come see us. Weโ€™ll help you figure out the right next step.

Mamas-to-be, this oneโ€™s for you. ๐Ÿ’œ

Healthy pregnancy tips from Dr Neill, and the biggest one is simple: listen to your body. Itโ€™s always telling you something.

Hereโ€™s what to keep in mind:
โœ”๏ธ Keep up with your antenatal checks, every single one
โœ”๏ธ Feeling off, down, or extra tired? Take that nap or that day off. Rest now means recovering before things get worse
โœ”๏ธ Cracked lips, going to the bathroom less, or the weather feeling extra hot? Your body may be asking for more fluids
โœ”๏ธ Still feeling off, or things getting worse even when youโ€™re doing everything right? Check in with Dr Neill. Donโ€™t wait

You know your body best, and you donโ€™t have to push through it alone. Our team is here to walk with you through every stage of your pregnancy. ๐Ÿคฐ

Letโ€™s talk about your heart. ๐Ÿ’™

Climbed a few stairs and your heart is pounding? Thatโ€™s normal. Your body is just working hard.

But if your heart races while youโ€™re resting, or it wakes you up at night, donโ€™t ignore it. Come see us.

Dr Neill says a heart that races for no reason could be an arrhythmia. That just means an irregular heartbeat. If itโ€™s left alone, it can get serious, so the sooner we check it, the better.

He will listen to whatโ€™s been happening and, if needed, do a quick ECG to see whatโ€™s going on.

Prevention is always better than cure. Donโ€™t wait for it to get worse.

Letโ€™s talk about the appointment thatโ€™s easy to put off but so worth showing up for. ๐Ÿ’œ

A Pap smear screens for cervical cancer, and the evidence is clear: regular screening can reduce cervical cancer deaths by 80% or more among screened women. Thatโ€™s a big number, and it starts with one short visit.

Hereโ€™s what to expect when you come in:
โœ”๏ธ A quick, simple check, usually over in minutes
โœ”๏ธ A gentle chat with our Doc about your health history
โœ”๏ธ A chance to ask every question youโ€™ve been too shy to ask
โœ”๏ธ Guidance on when you should be screened next

We know it might feel awkward or a little nerve-wracking, and thatโ€™s completely normal. Our team will walk you through every step so you feel comfortable and in control.

Donโ€™t wait for symptoms. Screening works best when it catches changes early, before youโ€™d ever feel a thing.

Urinating a lot lately and wondering if it's an infection? ๐Ÿ‘‡

Frequent urination is one of the classic signs of a urinary tract infection (UTI), but on its own it doesn't tell the whole story. Dr. Neill says it's all about the full picture.

Ask yourself if you're also noticing:
โœ”๏ธ A burning feeling when you p*e
โœ”๏ธ Pain in your lower belly
โœ”๏ธ Urine that looks or smells different

The more of these that add up, the more likely a UTI is the culprit. The good news is that simple urine tests can check for signs of infection and give you real answers.

Been drinking water all day and still feel unusually thirsty?

Dr Neill says it could simply be the heat. With record temperatures and drought conditions, we lose more fluid than usual through sweat and even just breathing. So your normal amount may not be enough right now.

Try adding about two extra glasses a day and see how you feel. If the thirst sticks around, don't ignore it. Get it checked out.

Please note, this doesn't apply to persons on fluid restrictions.

Stay cool and keep sipping!

Gentlemen, when was the last time you got screened for prostate cancer?

Prostate cancer is the most common cancer among men in Jamaica, and early screening makes all the difference.

Not a fan of the digital re**al exam? Good news: a simple blood test can screen for it too.

Yearly screening is recommended if you are:
โœ”๏ธ 45 or older
โœ”๏ธ Have a family history of prostate cancer

Screening is quick, simple, and it can catch problems early, when they're easiest to treat.
