"Our center is deeply honored to have the opportunity to facilitate a training session on Disability Inclusion (DI) for executive staff across various UN Agencies in the Lao PDR. During the session, we delved into the challenges and barriers that people with disabilities still face, as well as the existing gaps in policies and legislation that have yet to fully promote disability inclusion. At the same time, we exchanged real-world experiences and discussed concrete pathways to turn inclusion into reality within future UN programs in Lao PDR—including inclusive employment, project interventions, and dedicated budget allocation to ensure that people with disabilities truly benefit and participate.
Everyone, promoting disability inclusion is of utmost importance as it is rooted in fundamental human rights. Our center is fully committed to collaborating with partners to drive disability inclusion forward into tangible action.
We extend our highest gratitude to the United Nations in Lao PDR for providing us with this opportunity to share our experiences and recommendations to promote equal rights for people with disabilities."
