B18 Loudspeakers
As part of the expansion of the Burmester B-Series loudspeaker portfolio, the B18 was aligned in 2022 with the appearance of the B28 and B38 and now also features the simple, understated screwless front, making the speaker even more elegant to integrate into any living space ambiance. In addition, the variants regarding cabinet finishes and anodized colors of the fronts were also standardized across the entire B-Series.
Design:
Immediately recognizable as a typical Burmester, the B18 speaker draws on characteristic design elements of Burmester loudspeakers.
Handmade:
The B18 speaker is designed as a 2 ½-way bass reflex speaker in a front-firing principle and is an all-round talent in sound: space-saving, yet highly musical and dynamically responsive. The high-frequency reproduction benefits from the ring radiator developed exclusively for Burmester, which ensures optimal transparency and resolution. The mid-bass and mid-woofers are an evolution based on a proven driver, which now also enables the B18 to deliver an impressive sound performance. The highly complex crossover is housed in its own cabinet chamber, as is the mid-woofer, whose own closed enclosure ensures particularly clean midrange performance.
The base of the B18, constructed in a sandwich principle, consists of a high-molecular thermoplastic polymer combined with other materials of high internal damping and stiffness for optimal decoupling of the speaker from the floor. The massive MDF front, together with the cabinet optimized by FEM analysis, ensures accurate, precise bass reproduction and significantly reduces cabinet resonance. In addition to mechanical damping by a foam cylinder, the B18 speaker features a bass switch to adapt bass reproduction to spatial conditions and personal listening preferences.
