I used to be afraid of the monster inside me. I fought against it, begged it to disappear, and clung to the person I used to be.

But pain has a way of changing you.

Every scream, every tear, every moment I thought I could not take anymore slowly destroyed the boy I once was.

Then I understood something.

I could keep pretending to be human and let the people I loved suffer…

Or I could accept what I had become.

So I stopped running.

Everyone thinks I am confused. They laugh when I stare into space or hold my aching head. They see a fool.

What they do not see is the storm inside my mind.
