Diving is more than an activity; it’s a vehicle for self-exploration, growth, and transformation. Combining yoga and diving brings profound benefits—introducing stretching, breathwork, and mindfulness into every dive. With basic yoga practices, we stretch and relax the body, while pranayama breathing techniques loosen the diaphragm and teach us mindful breathing underwater. This helps to:

- Reduce air consumption
- Stay calm and relaxed in the water
- Extend dive times
- Elevate buoyancy control and overall comfort

By integrating yoga and breathwork into your diving routine, we turn every dive into a meditative experience. Let’s explore the depths together with grace, awareness, and mindfulness.

New drysuit LOADING… 🟣

Okay, this has been WAY more fun than I expected!

I’ve been working with Procean.nl on my new custom MTM drysuit, and honestly, I’ve really enjoyed the whole process.

From choosing the suit and materials to deciding on the cut, colours, seals, dry glove system, pockets and all those little details that make a difference when you’re spending hours underwater.

And then came the measurements. Every last one of them.😅

What I’ve really appreciated is having a team behind the process who genuinely know their stuff. People who understand diving, make quality equipment and are happy to talk through the options rather than simply sell you something.

I’ve been diving Procean equipment for a while now, and one thing I’ve always appreciated is their approach to making premium diving gear accessible without the premium price tag.

Now, before anyone asks, yes, this image is AI-generated! It’s a little preview of what I’m hoping the finished suit will look like. The actual suit is still being made.

Cave cut, Black Cordura, purple accents and a few carefully chosen extras.

Will the finished product look anything like my AI creation? We’ll find out soon enough!

Can’t wait to see how it turns out.

What a difference two focused days can make.

I originally completed my sidemount course a few years ago, but never had enough consistent time in the configuration to make it feel completely natural.

This weekend changed that.

I spent two days in Gozo working one-to-one with Chris from Sidemount Society, stripping things back to the fundamentals and spending proper time on configuration, trim, buoyancy, awareness, movement and problem solving.

Nothing flashy.

Just repetition, feedback, adjustment, repeat.

And somewhere during those sessions, something clicked.

The cylinders stopped feeling like equipment I was managing.

The configuration started feeling like mine.

I’m honestly about a million times more comfortable and confident than I was going into the weekend.

There’s still plenty to work on, which is exactly how I want it. I’m planning to take my technical diving further in sidemount, so I wanted to get the foundations right before adding more complexity.

That was probably my biggest takeaway from Chris.

Don’t rush towards the sexy skills.

Get very good at the boring ones first.

Trim.

Buoyancy.

Position.

Awareness.

Equipment familiarity.

Then add task loading.

I went into the workshop wanting someone I could treat as a sidemount mentor rather than simply another instructor ticking boxes, and that’s exactly what I got.

Huge thanks to Chris and Sidemount Society for the patience, detail and two seriously useful days in the water.

I think I can finally say it properly now:

I’m a sidemount diver.

Now I just need to go diving. A lot.
