LUVESA WHITE COAT CEREMONY 2026 🥼🩺
The LUANAR Veterinary Students Association (LUVESA) was honoured to host the 2026 White Coat Ceremony, marking an important transition of our students into the clinical phase of their veterinary training. The ceremony brought together faculty members, parents and guardians, students, guests, and members of the veterinary community to celebrate this significant milestone. The programme featured inspiring remarks from Dr. P. Kothowa, representing the Head of Department, Biomedical Sciences, a student reflection delivered by the LUVESA president Peter Kamanga, and an address from the Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and LUVESA Patron, Dr. Kainga, who highlighted the expectations, ethics, and responsibilities that accompany the transition into clinical practice.
We were also honoured to have Prof. Sagimoto from Hokkaido University, Japan, deliver the keynote address, sharing valuable insights and encouragement with the students as they embark on this new chapter. The ceremony continued with the presentation of white coats and stethoscopes, followed by the Veterinary Student Oath, led by Dr. Joe Magombo. The occasion was a powerful reminder that the white coat represents more than academic achievement it symbolises professionalism, compassion, integrity, responsibility, and commitment to animal and public health.
LUVESA extends its sincere appreciation to all parents and guardians, faculty members, students, speakers, sponsors, guests, and everyone who joined us in making this occasion memorable.
To our newly coated clinical students, congratulations on reaching this important milestone! May you wear your white coats with pride and carry the values of the veterinary profession throughout your journey. From the classroom to clinical practice the journey continues. 🩺🐾🥼
