About 25 staff participated in a resuscitation refresher drill today, practicing the basics of adult & infant CPR and how to respond to a victim who is choking. Things got loud and enthusiastic as we practiced assessing the scene, calling for HELP!, and giving breaths & chest compressions, or abdominal thrusts, as needed. We are happy to report that all patients were successfully resuscitated during the drill, with no lives lost, due to their brilliant responses!

We’re celebrating the successful completion of our two-day Saline Training. This training is about being the salt of the earth by reflecting the character of Christ through compassionate and competent care.

Today, our staff received their certificates and we encourage them to care for our patients by looking after their physical, emotional and spiritual needs.

We’re grateful to MBF for this partnership and for the opportunity to grow together in this holistic ministry.

UN Road Safety Week 2026 | Mulanje, Malawi πŸ‡²πŸ‡Ό

In support of UN Road Safety Week, Mulanje Mission Hospital led a community Safety Parade from Chitakale TC to Mulanje Park Stadium under the theme: *"Helmet On, Lives Saved: Mandatory for Riders and Passengers"* - _Valani Helemeti, Miyoyo Itetezeke Kuno ku Malawi_.

Hundreds of motorcyclists, cyclists, pedestrians, and community members joined in high-visibility vests to promote safer roads and accident prevention. The campaign highlights a critical fact shared by George Kaliati, Nurse & Project Officer for the Chitsanzo Program: a large proportion of hospital trauma cases stem from road accidents, many involving motorcycle riders.

*Wear a helmet. Save a life. Be seen. Be safe. Onekani mutetezedwe.*

Bernadetta, who was supported through Mulanje Mission Hospital, has now graduated.

We are incredibly proud of your achievement and all the hard work that brought you to this moment.

We pray that God will continue to guide your path and that you will inspire many others through your life and work. Congratulations! πŸŽ“βœ¨

In a world where disability is often viewed through the lens of limitation, Bernadetta from Mulanje has spent years proving otherwise.

After completing her education at Apatsa Primary School and Mulanje Secondary School, Bernadetta January earned admission to the Catholic University of Malawi to study Bachelor of Social Science in Social Work with a minor in Special Needs Education, a programme that was always her first choice.

The journey was not easy. As a woman living with a disability, she faced accessibility challenges and constant doubts from people who underestimated her abilities.

"I used those moments of discouragement as motivation to work harder and prove myself," she said

With support from her family, sponsors, friends, and faith in God, Bernadetta remained focused on her dream.

On Friday, last week, Bernadetta graduated with a Credit and hopes to use her profession to support vulnerable people, especially persons with disabilities.

"Many people living with disabilities have great potential, but they lack support, encouragement, and opportunities. I want to be part of changing that," she said.

Her story is a reminder that disability does not define a person's potential. With determination, faith, and the right support, dreams remain possible.
