Sepeda Amal Borneo 2026 (SAB 2026) will be organising the SAB Child Health Symposium 2026 and a fundraising dinner on 31st July 2026 at Pullman Hotel, Miri. All fees collected will be used for children requiring surgery and children with immunodeficiency disorders. The paediatric symposium is open to all healthcare workers (doctors, nurses, pharmacists etc). The charity dinner will be open to all.

Another Joint Sarawak Health Department (JKNS)-MMA Sarawak-SPMPS Consultative Meeting was held at the JKNS HQ on 2.7.26 from 9am to 12.18pm with Dr Veronica Lugah (Sarawak Health Director), Dr Azlee Bin Ayob (Sarawak Deputy Health Director), Dr Asmah Nazahiyah Binti Said (Head of CKAPS Sarawak) and the JKNS team to discuss issues affecting doctors working in Sarawak and the proposed solutions.

Those present were also briefed about the upcoming Jelajah Sarawak from Miri to Kuching from 31.7.26 till 4.8.26 by MMA Sarawak together with National MMA SCHOMOS and the Junior Doctors Network (JDN). (This event follows the fundraising Sepeda Amal Borneo 2026 cycling event from Kota Kinabalu to Miri from 26.7.26 to 31.7.26 by MMA Foundation to support the Malaysian Association of Paediatric Surgery (MAPS) and Persatuan Pesakit Imunodefisiensi Primer Malaysia(MyPOPI).https://sab.mma.org.my/)

It was a privilege to represent the Malaysian Medical Association (MMA) again at the Appreciation Dinner of the Sarawak Ministry of Women, Early Childhood and Community Wellbeing Developmental (KPWK) hosted by its Minister The Honourable (YB) Dato Sri Fatimah Abdullah on the 23rd June 2026 yesterday.

MMA Sarawak in collaboration with Sri Aman Surgical Society recently organized a seminar entitled "Mastering Basic Acute Imaging: Beyond the Film" at Hospital Sri Aman on Saturday, 13th June 2026. The seminar was attended by 29 participants of which 25 of them were medical officers.

Lectures on basic knowledge and how to interpret CT imagings were presented by the radiologists and medical officers from the Department of Radiology, Hospital Sri Aman (HSA). It was followed by a group interactive session as well as a hands-on training session for Point-of-Care Ultrasound (POCUS) which was lead by the radiologists and HSA's emergency physician.

Dr. Aimir bin Ma'rof, Exco Member of MMA Sarawak also presented the introduction to SCHOMOS as part of the membership drive activity. Participants were enlightened and expressed their interest to join as member during the second half of the year.
