Seeing strands of hair on your pillow or comb can be concerning, but some daily hair shedding is completely normal. Hair loss may be more noticeable when you experience excessive shedding, thinning areas, a widening part, or visible bald patches that persist over time.

Paying attention to changes in the amount and pattern of shedding can help you know when it may be time to seek professional advice.
Share this with someone who has been worried about hair shedding and needs this reminder.

Pregnancy comes with many questions, but this is one worth knowing: no amount of drinking has been established as safe during pregnancy.

Drinking can affect a baby’s development, so avoiding it throughout pregnancy is the safest choice. This can increase the risk of fetal alcohol spectrum disorders, which may cause lifelong challenges with learning, behaviour and development.

If you’re finding it difficult to stay away from these drinks, speak with your doctor or midwife. You deserve support and guidance without judgment. Getting the right support early can make a difference.

Management may include lifestyle changes, medication or a combination, depending on symptoms, health goals, and individual needs.

What works for someone else may not be right for you. Speak with a healthcare professional before starting or stopping treatment.

Choking can happen suddenly, and those first few moments matter. If someone can still cough or speak, encourage them to keep coughing. But if they cannot breathe, speak, or cough, they need immediate help.

For adults and children over 1 year, back blows and abdominal thrusts can help clear the blockage. If the person becomes unresponsive, call for emergency help and begin CPR if you’re trained.

And remember: babies under 1 year and pregnant people require different techniques.
