Vitamin D is involved in way more than most people realize.

It supports bone health, helps with calcium absorption, and plays a role in immune and muscle function too.

Low levels can affect several systems at once, which is one reason I think it’s worth paying attention to rather than treating it like just another supplement.

Your level can be influenced by season, sun exposure, diet, absorption, skin pigmentation, and how consistently you supplement.

That’s why I recommend including vitamin D in your bloodwork.

I want to know your level so we can make a more informed decision about whether your current routine makes sense.

Do you know your vitamin D level?

I care about strength, but I care just as much about being able to move well.

Mobility has always been part of my routine because I don’t want to build a body that’s strong in only one very specific environment.

I want that strength to translate into everyday life too.

I want to be able to squat comfortably, reach overhead, move through a full range of motion, get down on the floor and get back up easily.

Those things can feel pretty ordinary when you’re younger.

They become a lot more meaningful when you start thinking about what you want your body to still be able to do decades from now.

And that’s why the 5 minutes at the end of a workout matters to me.

Strength and mobility are both part of the long game.

Which of the 4 moves in the reel was hardest for you?

I love data, but I don’t think more data is automatically better.

Some health tests give you information you can use right away.

Others are interesting, but don’t necessarily change what you should do next.

And a few can create more anxiety than clarity if there isn’t a good reason for testing in the first place.

That’s really how I think about all of these tools now:

Will this information change a decision I make?

If yes, I’m interested.

If it’s mostly giving me another score to stare at, I’m a lot less excited about it.

I also think context matters.

A CGM can be incredibly useful for one person and unnecessary for another.

Same with gut testing.

Even the “best” tests are only useful if you know what question you’re trying to answer.

And yes, I will probably always be a little too excited about getting bloodwork back. 😂

Which of these tests have you tried?

Your favorite health coach, back to tackle the most common questions about food labels!!

28/09/2026

I used to think being hungry again by 10am was just… normal.

Turns out, my breakfast was basically setting me up for it!

One of the biggest shifts I’ve made with food is asking a different question: Will this meal actually carry me through to lunch?

That changed the way I build breakfast.

I still eat foods I love.

I just make sure there’s enough substance around it that I’m not raiding the kitchen before lunch.

Less grazing.
Less thinking about food every 45 minutes.
More stable energy.
More satisfaction.

Sometimes the fix is not eating LESS.

It’s finally eating enough of the right things.

What’s your go to breakfast right now?

The front of the package is trying to sell you something.

“High protein.”
“Natural.”
“Made with whole grains.”
“Low fat.”
“No refined sugar.”

Some of those claims can be technically true and still tell you almost nothing about whether the product is actually a good choice.

That’s why I barely look at the front anymore.

I turn it over.

A food label gives you so much more useful information once you know what to pay attention to, and after a while, it takes seconds.

That little habit alone can change the way you shop.

Save this for your next supermarket run.

Your glutes are good for more than just a hot b***y 🍑

One thing I’ve learned from training is that the place you feel pain isn’t always the place that needs the most attention.

For me, sitting at a desk for hours used to mean an achy lower back.

I spent a long time thinking that was simply the price of working at a computer all day.

Strength training changed how I looked at it.

Your body works as a system.

When certain muscles aren’t doing enough, something else usually picks up the slack.

That’s one reason I care so much about building strength as I get older.

Of course I want to look good!

But I also want a body that supports me through long workdays, travel, workouts, and everything else I ask it to do.

And yes, if stronger glutes happen to be part of that equation, I’m very okay with the bonus 😋

Save this as your reminder to stop skipping glute day.

And it was never meant to be an experiment in the first place…

A policy change in 1950s Britain created a dividing line that researchers can still study more than 70 years later.

And the results keep pointing back to the same window of life: pregnancy through age 2.

What I find most interesting is how much our understanding of nutrition keeps expanding.

Food is information the body responds to, and some of those signals may leave a much longer imprint than we realize.

For parents and future parents, I also think this is a good reminder that healthy eating early on can be simple.

Whole foods.
Less added sugar.
Exposure to different flavors.

And for the rest of us?

Early life matters, but it is never the only chapter.

We still get to make choices every day that support the health we want decades from now.

Save this one because the science behind this natural experiment is pretty incredible.

Labor Day weekend = peak grilling season, so here’s one tiny upgrade I’m making before anything hits the grill 🌿

I love health habits that don’t require a whole new routine, a special product, or 17 extra steps.

This is one of those.

If you’re grilling this weekend, add rosemary to the marinade and call it a very easy little win.

Good food, good weather, and one less thing to overcomplicate!

Save this for your Labor Day cookout.
