TODAY 2 YEARS AGO AN ADVENTURE OF A LIFETIME BEGAN
2 years ago today we arrived in the Netherlands (only 11 weeks after saying yes to a new opportunity and a new life). Our lives changed in a blink of an eye. Arriving at Schipol with our whole life packed up in 6 suitcases, 2 carryons, a mountain bike (because if you move to NL you have to take your bicycle) and a guitar (because music is important 🥰). 🎶
We wholeheartedly took the leap and what an intensely wonder-filled journey it has been. ✨
I’m grateful beyond words and relocating to the other side of the world changes you deeply and on all levels.
I have faced so many fears. The biggest one - refusing to cycle because I had an intense fear of it to now cycling all over NL with LIGHTning (she is my car, my mode of transport and my adventure vehicle).⚡️ I still can’t believe that I went from fearing cycling to loving it.
My perspective around life transformed on every level (mental, emotional, physical and spiritual) and I started questioning everything. I started believing in myself and putting my own health (physical, mental and emotional) first. Because I know pouring from an empty cup is not beneficial for me or anyone else. 💖
I’ve never before had to navigate the emotional rollercoaster of polarity so deeply. No one can prepare you for this and it’s difficult to put it into words (perhaps because it’s the emotional plane and can’t be explained by the mind. It has to be felt). ✨
I’m now able to hold, allow, process, integrate and appreciate so many emotions (even the uncomfortable ones).
Let’s just say this journey has taught me emotional mastery, mental strength I never knew I had, physical resilience and spiritual growth - all on a very deep level. I trust life and myself more.
Professionally I have evolved so much too - the level I now coach my clients have amplified and I go deep when it comes to health and life coaching. I love being able to follow my purpose and passion and inspiring people to live a LIGHTer life too.
Today I am grateful for every experience - the good, the uncomfortable, the painful and everything in between. Because it was and is all necessary and played a role in being who I am today. 💖
I still find myself pausing at times and my mind can still not believe where I am and a sense of wonder, magic and joy overtakes me.
A knowing that I am living the life of my dreams. I hope and trust that it’ll never go away.
At the same time I’m still longing and missing the way life was.
Here’s the thing - you can love your life and still grieve the life you had. Knowing that nothing will ever be the same again and getting comfortable with change is an ongoing process.
A special thank you to my soulmate, my partner in crime and the love of my life - Lyf, I couldn’t and wouldn’t want to rebuild a life from scratch with anyone else but you. You make me a better me and your love and support give me strength on hard days. 🫶
Your sense of humor makes me laugh and you help me be lighter at life. You remind me that there’s always time for fun and laughter. I appreciate and love you so deeply. You make life easier and more fun.
Thank you to our support team across the world - you know who you are! We love you all dearly! 💖
For those of you that have relocated to another country and can resonate with this, I see you! Say hello in the comments.
Life can be challenging, but always remember to let your light shine bright, no matter what.
Sending you all lots of love as you navigate this journey called life.
