⏰ Last chance to become part of the editorial review board!
The deadline to apply for the editorial review board of the newest EAES & SAGES Journal, Innovative Surgical Trends (IST), is 1 November. This is your final opportunity to help shape the future of peer review.

Our Subject Matter Editors are ready to lead their review teams, and we are still looking for colleagues who want to be part of them.

What to expect:
✅ A one-year term (renewable)
✅ No more than one manuscript per week
✅ Real-time team discussions on a private Slack channel, instead of isolated written reviews

It is a manageable commitment alongside your clinical and academic work, and a rare chance to help set the editorial standards of a journal that will shape the field for years to come.

Don’t miss out. Email [email protected] before 1 November to express your interest, and we will follow up with a short survey to match you with the right review team.

Cut to Zero: The Surgical Sustainability Series
Join EAES and SAGES for Cut to Zero — The Surgical Sustainability Series, a new joint webinar series exploring how surgeons, operating rooms, and health systems can reduce their environmental footprint without compromising patient care. Each quarterly session pairs a SAGES and EAES faculty speaker to unpack a different facet of surgical sustainability — from OR waste and energy use to sustainable anesthesia, procurement, and the business case for going green — alternating between curriculum-based deep dives and real-world "Experience" case studies from institutions across the US and Europe. Designed for surgeons, perioperative staff, administrators, trainees, and industry partners alike, the series offers practical, evidence-based tools for driving sustainable change — one case, one chapter, one carbon footprint at a time.

Our inaugural session kicks off the series with a foundational look at the surgical carbon footprint — framing the scope of the challenge and previewing what's ahead as the series unfolds. Save the date and join us as Cut to Zero begins.

For the first time at EAES, industry joins the scientific debate. 🚀
EAES2027 offers a range of partner opportunities, and our premium package, the EAES Road Show, is the one to watch.

🎤 The debate
Take the stage in the Innovation Stream. Partners who book this package can take part actively by putting forward an industry leader or company executive as speaker. The debate takes place on Tuesday 15 June 2027 as part of the congress programme.

🛠️ The Test Drive area
Then let surgeons take the controls. Your Test Drive room is a dedicated, pre-booked, hands-on zone on the congress floor. You get pre-scheduled engagement with surgeons, administrators and R&D peers, with every name known in advance. It replaces open floor space with predictable, qualified ROI. On the same day, the Test Drive area will also be open to the public.

Would you like to be more actively involved in EAES? 🌟
We are looking for volunteers to join the editorial review board of the newest EAES & SAGES Journal, Innovative Surgical Trends (IST). The journal is committed to multimedia, innovation, rapid turnaround and social media interconnection.

Our Subject Matter Editors are now in place and will lead review teams across Acute Care, Biliary, Flexible Endoscopy, Hernia, Robotics, AI/Smart Imaging, Hindgut, Foregut, Education/Simulation, Social Media and more.

How will it work?
✅ One-year term (renewable)
✅ No more than one manuscript per week
✅ Each manuscript is discussed by the full team in real time on a private Slack channel, led by the Subject Matter Editor

This collaborative approach should give authors sharper, more consistent feedback and reviewers a better experience than the traditional model. It is a chance to help set the editorial standards for a journal that will shape the field for years to come.

Interested? Email [email protected] to express your interest. We will follow up with a short survey to match you with the review team that best suits your expertise.
