💪 Did you know your muscles play a major role in controlling blood sugar?
Skeletal muscles are one of the main places where glucose from your blood is taken up and used for energy. Think of your muscles as a “sugar sponge” 🧽—the more active and healthy your muscles are, the better your body can handle glucose.
Regular physical activity, especially strength training + walking/aerobic exercise, can improve insulin sensitivity and help with blood sugar control.
But remember: more muscle alone doesn’t mean diabetes is controlled. Diet, exercise, body weight, sleep, medications when needed, and regular monitoring all matter.
👉 Don’t focus only on losing weight—focus on maintaining healthy muscle too.
Build muscle. Stay active. Control your sugar.

🚨 High Blood Pressure: Don’t Believe in Myths!
के करेला खाएर मात्रै High BP नियन्त्रण हुन्छ? 🤔
Many people believe that eating certain Nepali vegetables like करेला (bitter gourd) can control high blood pressure. 🥒
✅ The truth: A healthy diet, including vegetables, can support blood pressure control, but no single vegetable can replace prescribed BP medication.
⚠️ Why is this dangerous?
High blood pressure (Hypertension) is a silent killer. You may feel completely normal while it slowly damages your heart, brain, kidneys, eyes, and blood vessels.
❌ Ignoring medication or relying only on home remedies can lead to serious complications, including heart attack, stroke, and kidney failure.
✅ What should you do?
• Check your BP regularly.
• Eat a balanced, low-salt diet.
• Exercise regularly and maintain a healthy weight.
• Take prescribed medication as advised by your doctor.
• Never stop BP medication without medical advice.
❤️ Remember: Vegetables are part of a healthy lifestyle, not a replacement for medical treatment.
मिथ होइन, सही जानकारी रोजौँ। उच्च रक्तचापलाई बेवास्ता नगरौँ, नियमित BP जाँच गरौँ र चिकित्सकको सल्लाहअनुसार उपचार गरौँ।

Not every cough is caused by a lung problem!

Did you know that heart disease can also cause a cough?

❤️ Cardiac Cough (Heart-Related)

Often gets worse when lying flat or at night.

May be associated with breathlessness, especially during sleep or physical activity.

Swelling of the feet or ankles may also occur.

It can happen when heart problems cause fluid to build up in the lungs.

🫁 Respiratory Cough (Lung or Airway-Related)

May occur with a cold, flu, asthma, allergies, or a lung infection.

Wheezing, fever, a runny nose, or chest discomfort may be present, depending on the cause.

Cough with mucus can occur in some respiratory conditions.

Remember: These symptoms can overlap, so you cannot always tell the cause of a cough just by its sound or type.

Other conditions, such as acid reflux (GERD) and certain medications, can also cause a cough.

🚨 Seek urgent medical care if a cough is accompanied by severe breathlessness, chest pain, blue lips, or coughing up blood.

The message is simple: A persistent cough deserves attention. Don’t assume it’s always a lung problem!

Normal cholesterol, healthy lifestyle, and still at risk? 🫀
Some heart risk is inherited, and a routine lipid profile does not measure it.
It is called lipoprotein (a), or Lp(a).
🔹 Your genes decide your level, and it stays almost the same throughout life
🔹 About 1 in 5 people have a high level
🔹 High levels raise the risk of heart attack, stroke and aortic valve narrowing
🔹 Diet and exercise change it very little, so manage your other risk factors strictly
🩸 Guidelines advise testing every adult at least once.
⚠️ Get tested early if:
A parent or sibling had a heart attack or stroke at a young age
Cholesterol problems run in your family
You have heart disease despite normal cholesterol
Above 50 mg/dL (125 nmol/L) is considered high risk.

Big myth !

08/10/2026

Cough doesn’t always mean a lung problem! 🫁
A cough can sometimes come from different organs or conditions:
🫁 Lungs: Asthma, COPD, pneumonia, infections
❤️ Heart: Heart failure can cause cough, especially when lying down or at night
🍽️ Stomach/Esophagus: GERD (acid reflux) can cause recurrent dry cough, throat irritation, or a feeling of something stuck in the throat
👃 Nose & Sinuses: Post-nasal drip from allergies or sinus problems can trigger cough
💊 Medicines: Some medicines, especially certain blood-pressure medicines (ACE inhibitors), can cause a persistent dry cough.
So, treating the cough alone may not solve the problem if the underlying cause is missed.
If your cough is persistent, recurrent, or associated with breathing difficulty, chest pain, blood in sputum, or unexplained weight loss, get evaluated by a doctor.
