You don't need an hour or a perfect morning. You need three things that actually hold.
Amy Reis Williams, our Counsellor and Facilitator, offers three small, body-aware practices you can lean on before the day begins. Whether you're between sessions or just starting out, these are here for you.
1. Notice your body before you reach for your phone.
A brief scan from feet to shoulders tells your nervous system that the day begins with you, not a notification.
2. Name one feeling before you name one task.
Putting a single word to how you're feeling takes seconds. It lays the foundation for the self-awareness that trauma-informed work deepens over time.
3. Choose one small anchor for the day, and treat it as non-negotiable.
A walk. A breath. A moment of quiet. Small and consistent beats ambitious and irregular, because your nervous system responds to rhythm, not intensity.
These aren't hacks. They're the grounded, everyday practices we teach at MindfulWell, drawn from trauma-informed, evidence-based care.
Save this for tomorrow morning. And come find us when you're ready for deeper support. ๐ฟ
