🌿 YOUR GUT & MIND ARE CONNECTED

connection (FAMEW)
Your gut and your mind are more connected than you may think.
🧠 The gut and brain are in constant communication through what is often called the gut–brain axis. What we eat can influence digestion, energy, blood-glucose patterns and the gut microbiome - all of which may play a role in how we feel, focus and function.
A varied, fibre-rich diet can help nourish beneficial gut bacteria. Think of:
🥣 Oats and whole grains
🫘 Beans, lentils and chickpeas
🥦 Colourful vegetables
🍎 Fruit
🥜 Nuts and seeds
🌿 Herbs and spices
- Rather than looking for one “superfood”, aim for variety across the week. Different plant foods provide different fibres and natural plant compounds that support a more diverse gut environment.
- And remember: gut health is not only about food. Sleep, movement, hydration, stress management and meaningful social connection also matter.
- If you are increasing fibre, do it gradually and drink enough fluids, especially if your usual intake has been low.
- Food feeds more than the body, it can be part of caring for the gut, brain and overall wellbeing.
