It was fabulous to be presenting in the current round of regional Seminars in Auckland, Tauranga and Wellinton. A great time of sharing and connecting with colleagues from Aged Care.

Was also fabulous to have the opportunity to connect in person with a number of our Hercules Health clients. I'm looking forward to sharing again with colleagues at the Dunedin Seminar on Tuesday.

How is productivity measured in Healthcare?

Aged care provides Healthcare for a growing population, with often an intense pressure to provide a person-centered focus for those who may or may not be able to express their own needs. Providing meaningful compassionate care in such situations reinforces the need for patience while each team member is under pressure to provide more care for more people with increasingly complex needs.

Digital systems which are fit for purpose and intuitive to use, are important as essential tools at the crossroads of time-poor aged care service teams and meeting the complex and often unstable clinical needs of those in their care.

Hercules Health INSIGHTS Dashboards are receiving strong endorsement from those using them. Not only do these Dashboards reflect health status of resident cohorts across a whole service, they also reflect areas of potential clinical risk and support workforce planning. They show where and when care team members are needed to align with the fluctuations in health presentation of residents in aged residential care.

Displaying clinical data in a way that shows clinical care needs is simply one of the tools we support our clients with to be more productive and more effective. I think back to my days nursing on the wards in acute settings, or leading care teams in aged residential care and marvel at what we can now achieve by bringing relevant data to guide care into this series of Dashboards.

The fun is also in exploring what else we can create to support this sector. Watch this space!!

There are some things that are certain in aged care! One certainty is that Nurses have high workloads and shoulder the responsibility of clinical safety for those in care.

While data is only part of the information that guides care, alerts are helpful as reminders of aspects of service that need urgent attention and review.

The example below shows automated alert badges in Hercules Health which are designed to bring that information to the fore to draw attention to action required by nursing personnel.

Working in aged care has so many wonderful moments. My husband Gerard Gibb and I brought our 1926 Hupmobile up to Napier for Art Deco.

Nikki, Diversional Therapist at Taradale and Elmwood Masonic and I, when we visited as part of afternoon activities program. It was fabulous to drive in to be greeted by a large group of residents who told us we'd made their weekend. We also had the joy of the company of Julie Garratt and Greg Garratt , Founders of Medimap. A great chance to dress up and swap stories from days gone by...
