“He's not hungry. He just wants comfort.”

**AND?! IS THAT SUPPOSED TO BE A BAD THING?!** 😂🙄

Since when did comforting your own baby become a problem?

NEWSFLASH: B***s aren't just for food. 👏

Breastfeeding is also about comfort, connection, security, and helping babies regulate their emotions.

Sometimes they're hungry. Sometimes they're tired. Sometimes they just need their mama.

**And sometimes they want a snack AND a hug. Who can blame them?!** 🤷‍♀️😂

We don't tell adults they're getting too many hugs, so why are we worried about a baby wanting comfort?

If my baby finds peace, safety, and happiness at my breast, I'm not apologizing for that. ❤️

Now excuse me while I continue the apparently CONTROVERSIAL act of comforting my own child. 💅😂

Be honest, mamas… how many times has someone told you your baby is “just using you as a pacifier”?! 👀👇

💛 Babies have mental health too.
Babies experience emotions, respond to stress, seek connection and communicate their needs long before they can speak.
When we talk about mental health, we often think about older children, teenagers and adults. But what about our youngest pēpi?

Their mental health is about how they experience themselves, their relationships and the world around them, including their developing capacity to feel safe, connect, explore and manage emotions with support.
This Mental Health Awareness Week, let’s make sure our youngest children are part of the conversation. Belonging starts in our very first relationships.
Because mental health matters at every age. Including before birth. 🌱
How do you tune in to the voice of pēpi in your mahi? Tell us below👇

That about sums it up!

That about sums it up!

I feel like this pretty accurately describes breastfeeding a toddler 😂

At some point, nursing goes from sweet little sleepy feeds to full-on negotiations, side requests, acrobatics, and them acting like your b***s are their personal property.

They know exactly what they want, when they want it, and apparently how they want to position their entire body while getting it. 😂

Breastfeeding a toddler is a whole different level of chaos, comfort, connection, and comedy.
