If you're taking glucosamine for your knee its time to stop and think twice before you have trouble thinking. Its 20 years since it was conclusively shown that glucosamine was not protective against arthritis progression and had no effect on knee arhtritis pain. Now knew research shows that it doubles your chance of arthritis - something to think about!!

Alzheimer’s disease (AD) is a devastating neurodegenerative disorder marked by progressive cognitive decline. Metabolic disruptions are widely observed, yet their involvement in the molecular aetiology of AD remains underexplored. Here we identify ...

There is more than 10 years of research showing that if you return to sport inside 12 months after ACL reconstruction that your chance of re-rupturing the graft or doing the other knee is doubled. This risk only drops dramatically after 18 months of rehab and then only when the individual has met the rehab targets. Its time to stop this talk of 12 months being normal - its actually rushed.

Two months on from a cruel injury that could cost her a place at the 2027 Netball World Cup, Silver Fern defender Catherine Hall says she is not putting any pressure on herself to reach next year's pinnacle event.

You see our elite athletes with fancy patterns of multi coloured tape on them. Wondering why? So do we!! . The patterns are random, made to look like a marvel suite, the colours are just that, not different strengths of stretch, and there are several decades of research to show that it just doesn't work for most things its made out to. But why believe this blog - here is an article from someone who has lived the experience as an elite athlete who now cares for others https://www.iasp-pain.org/publications/relief-news/article/is-kinesio-taping-effective/ if you're still in doubt - google "is there any good evidence to support the use of kinessiotape" all the top half dozen things that come up are good evidence based reports.

I imagine that you have seen regular people and athletes with colourful tape stuck to their skin. It is called Kinesio Tape. This therapeutic tape was developed by a Japanese […]

It's great that a pill improves cartilage thickness in MICE. Except that most things like this have not scaled up to a human size knee. Secondly, it's very clear from at least the last decade that knee pain is NOT related how how much cartilage change there is on your MRI. RNZ needs to not publish clickbait like this. Lots of harm in musculoskeletal medicine from passive treatments that don't work - false hope worsens the pain. Belief the that MRI changes are the source of the pain worsens the pain - stick with the science.

Stanford University scientists have had a major breakthrough that could lead to future knee injuries being repaired with a simple injection or oral medication.

Tonight, our clinic took on a completely different feel as we swapped our usual sports wall memorabilia for a vibrant display of abstract art.
We were incredibly proud to host the first art exhibition of our very own Julianne Osborne, Don't Overthink It. Transforming the walls of the clinic into a gallery, Julianne showcased more than 27 stunning pieces, each created during a particularly challenging chapter of her life.
As Julianne shares:

"Welcome to Don't Overthink It, a show that celebrates the end of a challenging period and the beginning of something better. A celebration of strength, friends, family, struggle and overcoming the odds.
Over the past few months, colour has been my antidote. These pieces have brought me real joy to create, and I hope they bring something just as positive to you. They resist analysis, allowing instead for a spontaneous emotional response and possibly a mini-break from life's demands.

It was wonderful to see so many people come together to support Julianne, celebrate her creativity, and share in such a special evening. The atmosphere was filled with warmth, connection, and appreciation for the courage it takes to turn life's challenges into something beautiful.

Congratulations, Julianne, on a truly inspiring first exhibition. We are honoured that our clinic could provide the canvas for such a meaningful celebration of art, resilience, and hope.

360 Health is so proud of you xx

It's generally considered normal to have flat flexible feet, it's certainly the most common foot type. An orthotic causes 15% loss of muscle bulk in the foot within 12 weeks if prescribed for a medical condition. In contrast children who wear unsupportive minimally cushioned shoes have bigger leg muscles and run and jump better. https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S0966636221006378 https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/abs/pii/S0268003320301819

The tissue stress theory is commonly used to prescribe foot orthoses, however the mechanisms of foot orthoses are not understood well. The effect foot…
