Do you know what a blastover is? This client didn't want to cover the tattoos he had but it was time to change it up and bring cohesion to both of his arms. We spent 2 days freehand drawing on these branches, outlines complete, next up we will shade in the leaves. A blastover allows the original tattoo to still show through underneath a new tattoo, a great way to have a new look while keeping the memories of the old tattoo.

From colour to black and grey. My client wanted to cover her original floral colour tattoo with black and grey daphne, I always love seeing what can be created with a fresh approach to an existing piece.

This was a cool and fun concept, Sauron's helmet but abstract. Poor knee is swollen, we hit all of the most painful spots, but I couldn't tell, he sat like a rock!

Full colour custom hibiscus.

I super enjoy working with colour to create beautiful blends. Such great placement of this piece. My client couldn't decide on 1, 2 or 3 flowers so when she came in for the tattoo we played around with different stencils to see what she preferred. She decided 1 looked too lonely and 3 was too busy so went with 2 and I think it looks great!

First tattoo done in the new Foxton studio!

I had a friend come in as my first client here so of course we talked too much and I didnt manage to get a good photo of the tattoo at the end of the session but she was back with her partner a few days later for his tattoo (I'll be posting that soon) and she healed up perfectly so I could get some good photos.

It's still fresh and at the shiny stage while the skin continues to heal but I'm so pleased with it, I really enjoy tattooing elbows and they always look so cool!

What a gal! She's taking a piece of Bones back home to France and I am so appreciative of our time together. Back pieces are always a journey and then throw blackwork in the mix and you have a whole new kettle of fish. Tank. Absolutely loved working with you!

After a lot of planning, building, painting and many more trades we dipped our toes into over the last few months, Bones Tattoo Studio is now complete and I'm super excited to welcome you into the new space!

To give you a bit more insight about this move, a few years ago we bought land in rural Foxton with the intention of creating more time and space to be creative and start our self sufficient dream. Building the studio here has been a big part of making this vision a reality.

The new studio is private and appointment only, continuing the same one on one approach I've always had, just surrounded by a little more quiet and rural calm.

I'll be taking on a limited number of bookings while I settle into the new space, with both new and ongoing work welcome.

Whether you are local to Foxton and the wider Manawatū, travelling from Wellington or elsewhere in NZ, or making the trip from further afield, I'd love to have you here.
