WOW!!!! Not often do we get presentations like this in our whare so when Hope shared some of her journey with us, as a Counselling tauira, we were absolutely blown away… and I don’t say that very likely because it’s pretty hard to blow us away.

Hope this is an absolute Taonga.
Thank you for sharing this with us.

Thank you Molly💐
Today we say a heartfelt goodbye to our wonderful pou tuara, Molly, as she finishes her journey with us at Whaiora Services.

We are so proud to stand behind and support the "Little Matters NZ korero, which focuses on the power of everyday actions to prevent child sexual abuse. But while we look at daily preventions, we also need to build our collective capability to support those who are ready to speak out.
That is why we are urging everyone to step forward and register for the Kia Puawai wananga delivered by Whaiora.
The korero and insights shared in this space come directly from the real, lived experiences of survivors so you will learn exactly how to safely, gently, and effectively support your loved ones when they choose to disclose their trauma.
Preventing sexual harm is not a single conversation—it takes an entire village standing strong together. Use the taonga from "Little Matters NZ" to start the conversation at home, and let Whaiora guide your deeper understanding through this beautiful, safe, and powerful wānanga.

Not only do we get to nurture whanau to a place of profound Wellbeing, but we also get to model safety for our precious mokopuna, cultivating unbreakable bonds and showering them with unconditional love.

Earlier this week we were incredibly saddened and frustrated to hear that RespectEd Aotearoa has lost vital funding to continue their essential mahi educating our communities and preventing sexualised violence within Aotearoa.

PREVENTION WORKS. It changes cultures, protects our whānau, and stops harm before it even starts. Yet, it continues to be drastically underfunded. To see yet another amazing kaupapa in the Sexual Violence space stripped of its funding is a massive step backward for our country.

Thank you to the team at RespectEd Aotearoa for the invaluable training (and thank you Jude from WellSTOP for the invitation)

We also want to thank you and acknowledge you for the decade of tireless work you’ve poured into keeping people safe. Our communities need you, and you deserve so much better.

Artist: Phil Makaraka Berry
Title: “Hineraukatauri”

Hineraukatauri, the atua of music and harmony, flows through this work as a presence that calms, inspires and restores. She is depicted as a young wāhine, symbolising the subtle, transformative power of music and creativity.
Her form stands grounded and steady embodying wāhine ora, strength, resilience and the quiet power of presence.

The painting also reflects her connection to the pūtōrino, weaving wairua, sound and emotion into a space of reflection and renewal. This work speaks to transformation - the journey of turning breath into voice, and pain into expression. It honours the space where silence, sound, and wairua meet, reminding us that healing often begins within, and flows outward.
