A special shout-out to our Steele Park Home Support team this Home Support Day!

Elisha, Ely Jean, G*i, Erla, Shalbin, Liezel, Michelle and Lorena today is all about recognising you!

Whether itโ€™s preparing meals, keeping our home clean and comfortable, looking after maintenance and laundry, or helping things run smoothly in the office, you each bring something valuable to Steele Park Home.

And when an extra pair of hands is needed, youโ€™re always willing to help across different roles. That teamwork makes a real difference to our residents and everyone who calls Steele Park Home part of their day.

There's always something to look forward to at Steele Park Home!

Our Country Music Day had everyone in the spirit, with residents helping decorate the lounge, enjoying live entertainment and singing along to familiar favourites.

During Mฤori Language Week, residents and staff came together to celebrate te reo Mฤori through songs, word games and a Kiwi quiz. It was especially lovely to see residents sharing their own ideas and taking part in the celebration.

We also honoured the dads in our home on Father's Day with special gifts and warm wishes.

DRT Day was another special occasion, with music, games and a lovely Happy Hour. We also took the opportunity to show our appreciation to our Diversional Therapist with a special gift, while recognising the residents and staff who have contributed to our activities throughout the year.

There was time for everyday favourites too, including pet therapy, tiki tours, indoor bowls and movies with ice cream.

Celebrating Jocel this Diversional & Recreational Therapy Day.

Jocel has been part of the Sound Care Group family since 2022 and has recently achieved an important milestone by completing her Diversional Therapy qualification.

With a Bachelor of Science in Nursing background, Jocel brings a strong understanding of care together with creativity, enthusiasm, and a genuine commitment to enriching the lives of our residents.

She is well loved by her team and is known for being reliable, creative, and always striving to deliver quality activities and events. Jocel is someone who thinks outside the box and is always looking for ways to make activities more meaningful, engaging, and enjoyable for our residents.
Whether she is organising an event at Steele Park Home or representing Sound Care Group at wider community events, Jocel brings energy, professionalism, and pride in what she does.

We are very proud of how far Jocel has come and congratulate her on completing her DT course.

Sound Care Moments | August at Steele Park Home ๐Ÿ’™

Sometimes one small gesture says a lot about life in a home.

Ahead of Carers Day, one of our residents asked during church service if the carers at Steele Park could be included in the prayers. Later in the week, residents cheered them on during the celebrations as we recognised the people who care for our whฤnau each day.

We also travelled a little further from home without leaving Hamilton! Our Armchair Travel to India brought residents, staff and families together to learn about India Independence Day, share stories and enjoy samosas, banana fritters, masala chai and more. The food went down so well, there were even requests to see some of it on the menu.

A little appreciation, a little learning and plenty to share all part of life at Steele Park Home in Hamilton.
