It was lovely to welcome a special visitor to our home during Māori Language Week.
One of our residents was joined by his brother, who shared stories of their whānau and tīpuna here in Waikato. Together with residents and staff, they sang the national anthem in te reo Māori and English, followed by Te Aroha. A lovely way to share family history, language and culture.
September also included a Father's Day afternoon tea, country music activities and some friendly competition with games and puzzles.
We also marked DRT Day with a thoughtful gesture from our residents, who wrote thank-you notes to show their appreciation for the care and dedication of our Diversional Therapist.
These were some of the moments shared at Te Whare Manaaki o Tamahere throughout September. 💙
