Into the wild we went... 10 of us, singing sweet songs and wild anthems. We chanted, talked and laughed, walked the labyrinth and were held by the joy that is wangapeka in springtime.

Dear friends of Wildsong, things are in motion.
I am leaving Ōtautahi Christchurch this weekend and heading to Nelson where I'll be starting a new chapter and a counselling degree.

I believe the work I have been creating in Christchurch over the last 6 years is important, and needed. I have poured my heart, soul, and all of my energy and effort into this work. And feel so privileged that my thoughts and ideas and curiosities have been received in the way they have.

I recognise that in order to keep doing it, I need to grow and develop too. I need to feel into my edges, seek out the limits and grow through them. I need inspiration and fresh energy. I need my own cup filling and to learn again.

So this is me... meeting my own needs. 🥰

I will probably be offering classes and workshops in Nelson and the bay once I'm settled and inspired. But for now I'm deep in the process of navigating this change. Tears, fear and overwhelm, hugs and sweet words. Joyful reminders of the love surrounding me. The pain of letting go. Dogged determination to pack up life and give away as many things as posisble (😁).

Thank you for all your support and trust over the years, it's meant more than you can possibly know. It's not the end, just the next beginning. Who knows where the path with eventually lead but for now, I gotta get moving!

I record songs more often than I post them.🙊

The thing that often holds me back from posting is seeing my face making funny shapes when singing and mostly seeing my singing double chin immortalised on camera. 😱😱😱

I genuinely don't care about that in person AT ALL, because the song is fluid and moving through me and I'm only focussed on being present and singing.

But it feels challenging when it comes to uploading it to a site like this, which is all about aesthetics and how things look.

I have moved through many iterations of my voice and acceptance of how my voice actually sounds, and guided many others in the process too. When things like this pop up, I remember how many barriers we all grapple with when it comes to sharing our voices.

Especially facking annoying when these barriers are about not meeting ridiculous unmeetable beauty standards set by our 'unhinged, corporate focused, male gaze centred' world. Where you worth as a woman putting herself out there is overwhelmingly defined by your looks and not by how you use your voice.

Which is exactly the opposite of what i believe and what I'm teaching...🙄 We need our own medicine sometimes eh.

Many layers, much conditioning, much witnessing. Kisses ❤️
