FREE Information Session - Advance Care Planning at Tākaka Memorial Library, Wednesday 21 October at 10.30am

What matters most to you when you think about your health changing?
How would you communicate your wishes to the health care team and your loved ones?
What health care would you want, or not want, including your end-of-life care?
If you have an Advance Care Plan (ACPlan), this will tell what you want them to do.

Hauora

We often use the word hauora to talk about health and wellbeing.

But hauora is about more than simply whether we're physically well.

Our wellbeing is connected to our tinana (body), hinengaro (mind), whānau (family and relationships) and wairua (spiritual wellbeing).

Sometimes looking after our hauora might mean seeing the doctor.
Sometimes it might mean talking with someone, reconnecting with whānau, getting outside, asking for help or simply taking a moment for ourselves.

Kia ora!

You probably say it already.

But kia ora is more than a hello. It carries a wish for wellbeing — ora is life, health and wellbeing.

In primary healthcare, connection matters. Feeling welcomed, listened to and respected can be an important first step in getting the support we need.

So this Te Wiki o te Reo Māori, we're celebrating the reo that is already part of everyday life in Aotearoa.

Kia ora, whānau.

What Māori kupu do you use in your everyday life?
