Exciting times... Ngatea is growing, and we're growing with it!

Something new is taking shape at Ngatea Pharmacy!

Our new (2nd) private consultation room is coming together, and we're excited about what this means for healthcare in our community.

As Ngatea grows, we want to grow alongside it — offering more healthcare services and making it easier for people to access care closer to home.

We're proud to have the support of Health New Zealand and the Townshend-Thomas Charitable Trust as we work towards improving access to healthcare in our rural community. Rural healthcare is firmly on all our radars, and it's encouraging to see that shared commitment turning into action.

Our new room will help us expand the services we can offer, including Nurse Consultations, travel health, vaccinations, wound care, Virtial TeleHealth and other healthcare appointments. There's more to come, and we'll share details as everything gets ready.

A huge thank you to Louden Construction for making the building work so straightforward. The job was completed in less than two days over the weekend, helping minimise disruption to our pharmacy and our customers. We really appreciate the fast, efficient work!

The room isn't quite ready yet, but we're getting closer. Watch this space!

Get the kids ailments sorted before school starts!
Nurse appointments available TODAY, 11am–4pm.
School starts back on Monday — so if there’s a cough, rash, sore throat, sticky eye, skin issue, wound or something else you’ve been wondering about, now is a good time to get it checked.
Pain and fever treatment available fully funded to get everyone well again before school starts.
Our nurse can assess a range of minor health concerns and provide appropriate treatment and advice, or help you work out if your child needs further medical care.

Just a little reminder that Nurse Jodi is in store today from 11am–4pm, alongside our pharmacy team.

More healthcare, right here at Ngatea Pharmacy

We’re excited to be expanding the Fully funded health services we can offer from this Thursday, 1 October.

Our Ngatea Pharmacy Health Clinic will run every Thursday from 11am–4pm, with Nurse Jodi and our pharmacy team here to help with a growing range of common health concerns.
Depending on your age, symptoms and circumstances, we can now help with things such as:
• Skin infections and some fungal infections
• Eczema and mild dermatitis
• Sticky eyes / conjunctivitis
• UTIs
• Scabies and headlice
• Oral and vaginal thrush
• Oral contraception
• Pain and fever management
• Wound care and dressings
• Strep throat swabs and support for unwell children

There are eligibility requirements for some services.

With the support of the Townshend-Thomas Charitable Trust, and Health New Zealand, we’re working hard to make healthcare easier to access when you need it, right here in our community.

We're seeing people really unwell with influenza, including tamariki.
If your child is sick and you're worried, please don't sit at home wondering whether they need to be seen.
Our nurse Jodi is in store tomorrow, 11am–4pm, and can assess your child, provide advice and appropriate treatment, and help you work out what needs to happen next.
You don't have to know whether it's “bad enough” to come in. Come and talk to us.
Especially with little ones, we'd rather see them early and help you know what to do.
