A Small Change That Can Make a Big Difference

Sometimes, improving safety and independence at home doesn't require a major modification. A simple adjustment to furniture height can make everyday transfers safer, easier, and more comfortable.

At Able Axcess, our Rubber Furniture Raisers are designed to elevate beds, chairs, sofas, and other household furniture, helping people maintain independence and reducing the physical effort involved in sit-to-stand transfers.
• Improve transfer safety and confidence
• Support independence at home
• Reduce strain on family members and caregivers
• Make cleaning and access underneath furniture easier

Why Choose Able Axcess Rubber Furniture Raisers?
• Made from durable recycled rubber
• Non-slip design for excellent stability
• No tools required for installation
• Available as individual blocks or platform raisers to suit a variety of furniture types

Whether you're an Occupational Therapist prescribing equipment, a support coordinator seeking practical solutions, or a family member looking to improve accessibility at home, our furniture raisers offer a simple and cost-effective way to create meaningful change.

Because sometimes the smallest modifications can have the greatest impact on safety, comfort, and independence.

🌱 Sustainability and accessibility go hand in hand.

At Able Axcess, sustainability is more than the materials we use. It's about creating access solutions that are built to last, reducing waste, and helping people remain connected to their homes, communities, and everyday activities.

Our approach focuses on:
♻️ Using recyclable aluminium sourced from New Zealand
♻️ Incorporating products made from recycled materials, including end-of-life tyres
♻️ Designing durable solutions that reduce the need for replacement and unnecessary waste
♻️ Supporting local manufacturing and supply chains wherever possible

When we create access solutions, we're thinking beyond today's installation. We're considering the long-term impact for individuals, whānau, communities, and the environment.

Because true sustainability is about creating solutions that stand the test of time while supporting a more accessible future for everyone.

Step with Confidence This Spring with AxcessGrip

Wet timber decks, ramps, and accessways can quickly become slippery underfoot. AxcessGrip is a simple, effective way to improve safety and confidence where it matters most.

Proudly made in New Zealand, AxcessGrip uses high-traction aluminium tread extrusions to provide long-lasting slip resistance on timber surfaces, helping create safer access for clients, whānau, visitors, staff, and the wider community.

Designed to suit different applications:
Standard – Fits neatly between timber planks (requires a 3mm gap)
XT – Surface-mounted for greater flexibility across most timber layouts (not suitable for composite decking)

With a P4 slip-resistance rating, AxcessGrip is ideal for:
• Residential decks, ramps, and pathways
• Schools and community facilities
• Retirement villages and care environments
• Public spaces, parks, and boardwalks

✔ Durable and low maintenance
✔ Visually discreet design
✔ Built for New Zealand conditions
✔ Supports safer, more confident movement all year round

Because safer access starts from the ground up.

🌟 Our Values in Action | The Heart of Able Axcess

At Able Axcess, ramps, access solutions, and mobility products are what we provide, but people are why we do it.

Every day, we work alongside clients, whānau, Occupational Therapists, funders, and community partners to create practical solutions that support independence, safety, and participation. Guiding everything we do are four core values that define who we are as a team:

💙 Nurturing
We create supportive relationships built on trust, respect, and understanding. We are committed to helping people access the resources and solutions they need to live their best lives.

🔄 Flexibility
No two people, homes, or situations are the same. We remain adaptable, innovative, and solution-focused, tailoring our approach to meet individual needs and changing circumstances.

🤝 Compassion
We believe meaningful outcomes begin with empathy. By listening first and understanding each person's unique journey, we deliver solutions that truly make a difference.

🧩 Collaboration
Great outcomes happen when people work together. Through strong partnerships with clients, whānau, healthcare professionals, suppliers, and our wider team, we combine expertise to achieve the best possible results.

These values are more than words on a wall. They influence every conversation, every recommendation, every installation, and every decision we make.

As we continue supporting communities throughout Aotearoa, we remain committed to creating accessible environments that empower people to live with greater confidence, independence, and choice.

Our values don't simply guide our business; they shape the experiences of the people we support. That's why every solution we deliver starts with listening, understanding, and working together.

We need your help! Do you know someone who's made a real difference in the life of a disabled person or their whānau? We'd love to hear about them.

Nominations are open until 31 July for our inaugural Enabling Good Lives Awards, celebrating people and organisations who have helped disabled people have more choice, control and freedom over their lives.

We're looking for examples of Enabling Good Lives in action over the past year across five categories: Housing, Education, Employment, Health and Wellbeing, and Disability Supports.

Maybe your child's school found new ways to support their learning and feel more included in class.

Or your organisation worked with neurodiverse employees to introduce accommodations for all neurodiverse team members.

What about a landlord who supported you to make your home more accessible?

Or a community group that helped your whānau feel more connected and empowered?

If someone comes to mind, why not nominate them? Not only will the winners get recognised for their good work, but they’ll get a prize too! You can also nominate yourself or your own organisation.

All you need to do is send us a written statement (up to 400 words) or a short video (up to 2 minutes). Nominations close on Friday 31 July 2026.

Thank you to everyone who has already submitted a nomination and to our award sponsors.

Health and Wellbeing: Northwest 7 Day Pharmacy
Housing: Swift - Your Mortgage, Insurance & Finance
Employment: Able Axcess
Education: Clipboard
Disability Supports: Mercury
Community Choice: IHC New Zealand
