πŸš— Could transport challenges make it difficult for you to get to health appointments?

Hato Hone St John are seeking feedback from people in the Greater Wellington region who may experience challenges getting to health appointments.

The Greater Wellington Health Transport Needs Survey is an opportunity to share your experiences and help build a better understanding of the transport barriers people face when accessing healthcare.

The survey is anonymous, and the information gathered will help inform future planning and discussions about community transport needs.

πŸ’¬ Your experience can help show what transport challenges people are experiencing and where there may be gaps in support.

Please note that the survey is for information gathering only and does not guarantee that a new transport service will be developed or provided.

πŸ‘‰ Complete the survey here: https://bit.ly/WgtnHealthTransport

Please feel free to share this with anyone in your networks who may have relevant experiences to contribute.

🌷 Spring is here. Let’s get moving again! 🌷

With the warmer days and longer evenings, spring is a wonderful time to start getting out and about again. Whether it’s a walk around the neighbourhood, visiting the shops, meeting a friend for coffee or simply enjoying some fresh air, staying active and connected can make a real difference to our independence, health and happiness.

Sometimes things like tiredness, reduced mobility, fear of falling or a lack of confidence can make getting out feel harder than it used to. But the right assistive equipment can help make everyday activities safer, easier and more comfortable.

πŸ’™ A rollator, walker or stroller isn’t about giving up your independence. It’s about helping you keep it.

The right rollator can help you:

🚢 Feel steadier and more supported when walking
🌿 Walk further while reducing fatigue
πŸͺ‘ Have somewhere to sit and rest when you need to
πŸ’ͺ Build confidence when you’re out and about
😊 Keep active, social and connected with the people and places that matter to you

There are lots of different styles available, from lightweight and compact models through to more supportive designs. Finding something that is the right fit for you and the way you live is important.

🌼 This spring, don’t let needing a little extra support stop you from doing more. The right equipment might be just what you need to get moving with greater confidence.

πŸ“ Want to find out more?

♻️ Who says old furniture can't learn new tricks?

When we moved from our former Centre at 110 Rimu Road, there was one piece of furniture we just couldn't bear to part with. Our custom-built reception counter had welcomed thousands of visitors over the years and had been part of countless conversations, questions, and connections. πŸ’™

While it no longer had a place in our new layout, we hoped it might still have a future.

That's where Ron from NZcoastalcreations came in. πŸ”¨

Armed with little more than the original counter and his own creativity, Ron designed and handcrafted a bespoke printer and stationery cabinet that fits our new Centre perfectly. No plans, no template, just skill, vision, and a determination to give something old a new purpose. ✨

We're absolutely delighted with the result. Not only has Ron created a beautiful and practical piece of furniture, but he's also helped us bring a little piece of our old Centre into our new home.

It means a lot to know that something which served our community so well for many years is continuing to do just that in a new form. 😊

A huge thank you to Ron for the time, craftsmanship, and care he put into this project. We are incredibly grateful and couldn't be happier with the outcome. πŸ™

🌱 A fantastic example of thoughtful design, expert craftsmanship, and sustainable reuse in action.
