๐ŸŒŸ Meet the Unsung Hero Behind the Scenes: Sue Kendall & Liz Murphy Our Clinical Administrators ๐ŸŒŸ

When you visit Raglan Medical, much of the focus is understandably on the healthcare professionals caring for patients. But behind the scenes, our Clinical Administrators plays a vital role in ensuring everything runs smoothly. Sue Kendall works in this role 7.30-1pm five days a week and is supported one morning each week by Liz Murphy, Practice Nurse Prescriber.

From coordinating referrals and managing specialist correspondence to supporting our clinical team with patient recalls, reporting, and administrative processes, they help keep the wheels turning every day. Their work ensures that important information reaches the right people at the right time, helping our doctors and nurses focus on what they do best, caring for our community.

Clinical Administrators are the vital link between patients, clinicians, hospitals, and healthcare services. Their attention to detail, organisation, and dedication help create a seamless experience for patients and support safer, more efficient healthcare delivery.

Today we'd like to acknowledge and thank our Clinical Administration team for the incredible work they do behind the scenes. Your expertise, professionalism, and commitment make a real difference to our patients and our practice every single day. ๐Ÿ’™

Investing in Our People, Investing in Our Patients

Last weekend, members of our Administration and Medical Centre Assistant (MCA) teams had the opportunity to attend the PMAANZ Conference in Wellington alongside Practice Managers and Administrators from across New Zealand.

While conferences are a chance to learn about the latest developments in primary healthcare, they are also an opportunity to connect with colleagues, share ideas, and bring back practical knowledge that can improve the experience of our patients and whฤnau.

Our administration and MCA teams are often the first people patients see or speak with, and they play a vital role in keeping our practice running smoothly every day. Attending events like PMAANZ helps strengthen their skills, builds confidence, and reinforces the important contribution they make to quality patient care.

We're proud to support ongoing professional development and grateful to have a team who are committed to learning, growing, and bringing new ideas back to Raglan Medical.

A special thank you to PMAANZ for delivering another inspiring conference and creating opportunities for healthcare administrators across Aotearoa to learn from one another.

Emergency Scenario Training at Raglan Medical

At Raglan Medical, our team regularly practises emergency scenarios so that if a real emergency occurs, we can respond quickly, confidently, and effectively.

These training exercises help us strengthen our skills, improve teamwork, and identify ways to further enhance patient safety.

While we hope these situations never happen, being prepared means we can provide the best possible care when it matters most.

A special thank you to Teresa for playing the role of a patient who collapsed on our reception floor. We know you thoroughly enjoy these cameo appearances and always bring a touch of realism โ€” and entertainment โ€” to our training sessions. ๐Ÿ˜Š

At Raglan Medical, weโ€™re committed to being prepared to care for our community when it matters most. โค๏ธ๐Ÿฅ

Celebrating Our Medical Centre Assistants

Behind every busy general practice is a team of people helping things run smoothly, safely, and with care.

At Raglan Medical, weโ€™re proud to acknowledge Teresa, Manaia and Tippy, our Medical Centre Assistants (MCAs), who play a vital role in supporting patients, whฤnau, nurses, doctors, and the wider clinic team every day.

Their role is varied and hands-on โ€” from preparing treatment rooms, checking equipment and supplies, and supporting clinical procedures, through to helping with observations, recalls, screening programmes, and patient information.

MCAs are also an important link between the clinical team and our community. Their work requires strong organisation, attention to detail, compassion, cultural awareness, and the ability to respond calmly when the day changes quickly.

Much of what they do happens behind the scenes, but it makes a real difference to the patient experience.

We are incredibly grateful for the skill, flexibility, and care our MCA team brings to Raglan Medical. Their contribution strengthens the whole practice and helps us continue providing responsive, community-focused healthcare for our local whฤnau.

Ngฤ mihi, Teresa, Manaia and Tippy.
