Wellbeing seminars and workshops • Mindfulness, meditation and relaxation • Evidence-informed support Many organisations, both professional and voluntary, exist for research and treatment of cancer. However, most patients diagnosed with cancer are keen to do something for themselves about their condition. “What can I do?” is a common question put to doctors by patients desperate to do something more than rely upon conventional surgery, chemotherapy and radiotherapy. Research has shown that more than 80% of patients with a diagnosis of cancer will use some form of alternative, integrative, or complementary therapy. With the belief that attending to our emotional, mental, spiritual and physical health is essential to our wellbeing, the Aratika Trustees are committed to facilitating integrative medicine programmes to educate and empower people with a cancer diagnosis.

🌿 And just like that, our final retreat for the year comes to a close.

We spent the last few days wrapped in the peace and quiet of beautiful Lake Ōkareka, Rotorua.
To everyone who joined us - Thank you for your vulnerability, your laughter and for allowing us to be a small part of your journey. We cherish the time we had together in such an amazing location. 🚶📝🌳🔥

The route covers a family-friendly 3.4 km, suitable for all.
Grab some friends and lock in the date, Wed 21st Oct, 6pm.

Breast cancer touches the lives of many people in our local community. When you register for the 2026 Pink Walk, we'd love for you to tell us why you’re taking part in this year’s event.
Maybe it’s to remember a loved one you’ve lost, or to celebrate the life of a friend, family member or colleague affected by breast cancer. It might simply be to show aroha and support for all women and whānau on a difficult breast cancer journey.
