Join Zena Nicholls (Ngāpuhi, Hauraki), Nikau Reti-Beazley (Ngāpuhi) and Katene Paenga (Ngāti Porou) at Rehua Marae as we draw on mātauranga and tikanga to grow practice that truly reflects our whānau.

This is an awesome opportunity for us to highlight our collective and individual successes, challenges, stories and experiences, as well as whakawhanaungatanga with others who have dedicated themselves to be in service of our whānau.

Research Explores Link Between Cultural Connection and Mental Wellbeing.

Te Whare Wānanga o Awanuiārangi is leading a multidisciplinary research effort examining the relationship between culture, identity and mental health. The findings reveal a quantifiable and measurable relationship between a stronger cultural connection and lower levels of anxiety and depression.

The Mauri Wāhine Mauri Tāne wānanga experience offers a wide spectrum of potential for positive change within an individuals and whānau, following the mauri of the collective allows us to sit with and delve into what is with us at the present.

➰Utilizing karakia, waiata, ngahau (entertainment + celebration), maurākau, reo Māori exposure, the taiao, and wisdom from beyond the ārai (veil), one’s experience has the potential to create such a positive effect which can ripple down 7 generations forward.
