National Disability Rights Week Celebration | July 22, 2026

Under the leadership of Hon. Albakil "Thong" Jikiri, Municipal Mayor, the Municipality of Indanan, through the Persons with Disability Affairs Office (PDAO) Focal Person, joined the nation in celebrating National Disability Rights Week with this year's theme, "Rights First, Legislation Forward – Strategic Action for Equal Participation and Inclusive Development."

The celebration featured a discussion on the rights, welfare, and inclusion of Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), followed by the distribution of rice assistance to PWD beneficiaries. During the activity, MSSD–Indanan also provided assistive devices to qualified PWDs who were assessed and identified as needing support.

The Municipality of Indanan extends its sincere appreciation to the resource speaker, MSSD–Indanan, Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), partner agencies, and everyone who contributed to the success of this activity.

Together, let us continue promoting the rights of Persons with Disabilities and advancing inclusive governance where everyone has the opportunity to participate and thrive.

Headline: 🏛️ TOWARDS A MORE INCLUSIVE INDANAN: NEW UNIFIED PWD ID SYSTEM IN THE WORKS

With the full support and visionary leadership of our Municipal Mayor, Hon. Albakil "Thong" D. Jikiri, the Persons with Disability Affairs Office (PDAO) Indanan is proud to have participated in the Training on the Unified PWD ID System and Disability Development Initiatives at the MPH-Disability Resource and Development Center, National Council on Disability Affairs (NCDA), Isidora St., Barangay Holy Spirit, Quezon City.

This training is a vital step in bringing national advancements to our municipality. To ensure we are fully equipped for this rollout, our office has received a new computer set and signature pad from the National Council on Disability Affairs (NCDA). This modern equipment will allow us to provide faster, digital-ready encoding and high-security ID processing for our constituents. 🖥️✍️

Under Mayor Thong’s administration, we are prioritizing these updates to better serve our PWD community through:

✅ Enhanced Security: A modernized, QR-coded ID system that ensures benefits go to legitimate PWDs.

✅ Efficient Service: Faster verification and streamlined access to social services and statutory discounts.

✅ Centralized Data: A more organized system to ensure every PWD in our 34 barangays is accounted for and supported.

Through this initiative, we remain committed to the goal of a , where every sector of society is empowered and no one is left behind. 🤝♿️

Ngayong araw, kaisa tayo sa pagbibigay pansin sa Women with Disabilities Day. Binibigyang-pugay natin ang tapang, talino, at kontribusyon ng ating mga kababaihang may kapansanan sa ating lipunan.

Hindi hadlang ang pisikal o mental na kondisyon upang maging pinuno, alagad ng sining, propesyonal, o huwarang ina at anak. Sila ay patunay na ang tunay na ganda at lakas ay nagmumula sa determinasyong malampasan ang anumang hamon.

Ano ang layunin natin ngayong araw?
✅ Pagkilala: Ipagdiwang ang kanilang mga tagumpay sa iba't ibang larangan.
✅ Inklusyon: Siguraduhin na ang ating mga komunidad ay accessible at may pantay na oportunidad para sa lahat.
