October 16, 2026 is World Restart a Heart Day.

Cardiac arrest can strike anyone, anywhere, at any time: at home, at work, in school, or on the street. When the heart stops, every second counts. Someone who knows CPR and starts it right away can be the difference between life and death while help is on the way.

That's why the Philippine Red Cross keeps training Filipinos in CPR, from students and volunteers to security guards and communities across the country. Because saving a life shouldn't depend on luck. It should depend on people who are ready.

Remember the basics:

• Check the scene and the person.
• Call for help. Dial 143 .
• Push hard and fast in the center of the chest.
• Use an AED if one is available.

Huwag matakot tumulong. Ang iyong mga kamay ay maaaring magbigay ng pangalawang buhay.

Bilang bahagi ng NU Health Services Office’s health awareness campaign, alamin ang mga sintomas, paraan ng pagkalat, at mga simpleng hakbang upang maiwasan ang ILIs. Sa pamamagitan ng tamang hygiene, pag-iingat, at pagiging responsable sa ating kalusugan, makatutulong tayo sa pagprotekta sa ating sarili, pamilya, at buong NU community. 💙💛

⚠️ Kung lumala ang sintomas, mataas ang lagnat, o nahihirapang huminga, magpakonsulta agad sa HSO via MSTeams o sa pinakamalapit na healthcare facility.

Due to the prevailing Habagat, smoke from forest fires in Kalimantan, Indonesia has reached some parts of Luzon and Visayas.

Haze may cause:
• Difficulty breathing
• Coughing
• Chest discomfort or pain
• Itchy or watery eyes
• Worsening of asthma and other lung conditions

⚠️ Extra caution is advised for children, older adults, and individuals with existing lung or heart conditions.

As the haze continues, wear a mask when going outdoors, limit prolonged outdoor activities, and stay hydrated.
