Fortunately, through the Asenso Segundo Distrito Free Hospitalization Program of Congressman Sancho Fernando “Ando” F. Oaminal, nakadawat sila ug tabang nga nakapahupay sa ilang kabug-at ug nakahatag dakong kahigayunan aron mapadayon ang pag-atiman kang Cesaria.

“𝘗𝘦𝘳𝘰 𝘬𝘢𝘳𝘰𝘯 𝘨𝘪𝘥𝘶𝘯𝘨𝘰𝘨 𝘨𝘺𝘶𝘥 𝘴𝘢 𝘎𝘪𝘯𝘰𝘰. 𝘚𝘢𝘬𝘪𝘵 𝘬𝘢𝘢𝘺𝘰 𝘩𝘶𝘯𝘢𝘩𝘶𝘯𝘢𝘰𝘯 𝘯𝘨𝘢 𝘮𝘢𝘨𝘥𝘢𝘰𝘵 𝘵𝘢 𝘸𝘢𝘭𝘢𝘺 𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘢𝘵𝘢𝘣𝘢𝘯𝘨. 𝘗𝘢𝘴𝘢𝘭𝘢𝘮𝘢𝘵 𝘨𝘺𝘶𝘥 𝘬𝘰 𝘯𝘪 𝘊𝘰𝘯𝘨. 𝘈𝘯𝘥𝘰 𝘖𝘢𝘮𝘪𝘯𝘢𝘭 𝘴𝘢 𝘪𝘺𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘴𝘺𝘢 𝘯𝘨𝘢 𝘨𝘪𝘩𝘢𝘵𝘢𝘨 𝘯𝘢𝘮𝘰 𝘱𝘢𝘳𝘢 𝘴𝘢 𝘢𝘬𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘯𝘢𝘯𝘢𝘺, 𝘯𝘢𝘭𝘶𝘸𝘢𝘴.”

For a family already struggling with the emotional and financial demands of caring for an elderly loved one, such assistance means more than having hospital bills settled. It means being spared from the additional burden of finding hundreds of thousands of pesos while trying to save someone dear to them.

In times when medical emergencies can push ordinary families into financial distress, access to hospitalization assistance becomes a lifeline.

Through the Asenso Segundo Distrito Free Hospitalization Program, families in the Second District are given an opportunity to focus on what matters most — the recovery and well-being of their loved ones — without having to carry the entire weight of overwhelming hospital bills alone.

For Artemia and her family, the assistance was not simply financial relief. It was an answered prayer, a burden lifted, and a reminder that in their most difficult moment, they were not left behind.

“𝘋𝘢𝘬𝘰 𝘨𝘺𝘶𝘥 𝘬𝘢𝘢𝘺𝘰𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘢𝘣𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘶𝘨 𝘬𝘢𝘢𝘺𝘰𝘩𝘢𝘯 𝘢𝘯𝘨 𝘱𝘳𝘰𝘨𝘳𝘢𝘮𝘢 𝘯𝘪 𝘊𝘰𝘯𝘨. 𝘈𝘯𝘥𝘰!”— words from a grateful daughter whose mother's life and family's hope were given another chance.

MISAMIS OCCIDENTAL CITES PEACE, HEALTHCARE GAINS AS DEVELOPMENT PRIORITIES

via Bhal Abad Cabrera | November 3, 2026

MISAMIS OCCIDENTAL — Improved public safety and expanded access to healthcare are among the key gains cited by Governor Henry S. Oaminal as his administration seeks to translate provincial development into better living conditions for Misamisnons.

During his fifth State of the Province Address on November 2, Oaminal highlighted the province’s reported low crime rate and the growing reach of its free hospitalization program, which had assisted more than 213,000 patients as of September 2026.

The governor said Misamis Occidental recorded approximately five crime incidents per 100,000 population, based on an assessment by the Mindanao Development Authority. The province also registered a 4.70-point increase in its security rating, according to the report cited in his address.

Oaminal said sustaining peace and stability is crucial not only to public safety but also to strengthening investor confidence and supporting tourism.

“[This] affirms our continued progress in maintaining peace and stability, strengthening public confidence, attracting investments and tourism, and ensuring a safer environment that improves the quality of life of every Misamisnon,” he said.

Healthcare assistance exceeds ₱1.1 billion, the provincial government’s free hospitalization program has assisted 213,487 patients, with more than ₱1.1 billion in medical expenses covered as of September 2026, Oaminal reported.

The program covers patients admitted to the Asenso Misamis Occidental Medical Center and provincial government hospitals, with funding support from local government officials and partner agencies, including the Department of Social Welfare and Development, PhilHealth, the Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office, and the Philippine Coconut Authority.

Oaminal said patients can receive hospital services without paying out of pocket, while hospitals are reimbursed through the program.

The figures highlight the provincial government’s reliance on coordinated funding and assistance to help residents access medical care.

Jobs must provide sustainable income, Governor Oaminal also reported that Misamis Occidental’s employment rate increased from 95.1% in 2024 to 95.8% in 2025.

However, he said employment figures should be matched by opportunities that allow families to earn enough, workers to develop skills, and young people to build their futures in the province.

The provincial government, he said, will continue coordinating with employers, training institutions, national agencies, and local governments to expand employment opportunities.

Beyond projects and spending
Oaminal acknowledged that more work remains to achieve the province’s aspiration for a peaceful, progressive, and happy Misamis Occidental.

He said development should be measured not only through completed projects, public spending, or announced investments, but through the impact of government programs on people’s lives.

“Leadership is measured by the difference we make in the lives of our people,” Oaminal said.

His fifth provincial address centered on the administration’s reported gains in public safety, healthcare, and employment, while emphasizing the need to sustain programs that directly benefit residents.

TWO SUSPECTS ARRESTED, ₱3.74 MILLION WORTH OF SUSPECTED SHABU SEIZED IN LANAO DEL NORTE

via Bhal Abad Cabrera | October 22, 2026

KAPATAGAN, Lanao del Norte, Philippines — Authorities arrested two individuals and seized approximately 550 grams of suspected shabu, with a standard value of ₱3.74 million, during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Poblacion, Kapatagan, on Wednesday, October 21.

The operation was conducted at around 12:15 pm in Purok 3 by operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Lanao del Norte and Misamis Occidental, in coordination with the Police Regional Intelligence Unit 10 (PNP-RIU 10).

The arrested suspects were identified in the initial report as “Doing,” 33, a businessman and resident of Purok 3, Barangay Poblacion, Kapatagan, and “Katrina,” 23, a resident of Purok 8, Barangay San Vicente, Kapatagan.

Authorities reported recovering five knot-tied plastic packs containing approximately 500 grams of suspected shabu and another heat-sealed pack containing around 50 grams.

The seized substances had an estimated street value of ₱900,000, while their reported standard value was ₱3.74 million.

Other items recovered during the operation included a blue lunch bag allegedly used to contain the seized drugs, a mobile phone, nine bundles of boodle money topped with a genuine ₱1,000 bill, a light brown eco-bag used to carry the buy-bust money, and a Yamaha Mio 125 motorcycle.

The operation forms part of law enforcement efforts to address the illegal drug trade in Northern Mindanao.

The suspects are expected to face appropriate charges under Republic Act No. 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, subject to the findings of the investigation and the filing of formal complaints.
