You don't need a breakdown to deserve a break.

If you've been saying "I'm fine" a lot lately, this one's for you.

October is Mental Health Month, and at SIMT Wellness Hub we're doing something simple: creating space to talk.

All month, our clinical psychologist Rabika Solanki will be leading small mental health focus groups in Karachi. These are safe, confidential circles for burnout, stress, anxiety, parenting pressure, or simply feeling stuck.

No judgement. No labels. Just real people, being heard.
And on Saturday, 10 October (World Mental Health Day), join us for an open evening: meditation, well-being sessions, interactive painting and free consultations. 5 PM onwards.

Spots in each group are limited, so they stay small and personal.

💬 Comment "HEARD" and we'll send you the details.

When was the last time someone listened to you without trying to fix you?

Not advice. Not "you'll be fine." Just… listened.
Most of us are running on empty. Parents juggling everything. Professionals pushing through burnout.

Creators and makers carrying more than anyone sees.

We say "I'm fine" so often, we start to believe it.

This World Mental Health Day, the global theme is Lived Experiences Heard: Real Voices, Real Change. So we're opening our doors for an evening that's simply about you.

🌿 Meditation
🌿 Well-being sessions with our psychologists
🌿 Interactive painting
🌿 Free consultations
🌿 And a few surprises

No appointment. No labels. Come as you are, and leave a little lighter.

One impactful play based activity used in remedial therapy is colour sorting! 🖍️✨

Colour sorting can be particularly beneficial for young children particularly aged around 18 months–2 years who may struggle with:

•Fine motor skills and hand control
•Pencil grip and pre-writing skills
•Letter and alphabet recognition
•Early spelling and writing skills
•Visual discrimination and matching
•Attention and following instructions

This simple activity helps children develop fine motor skills, hand eye coordination, visual discrimination, cognitive skills, and attention while learning through play!

Follow us for more simple, play based activities that support your child’s learning and development💛

Not every child needs oral motor therapy. Here's who does.

Not every child needs oral motor exercises. The right ones do, and a speech therapist decides that.

Oral motor therapy (tongue exercises for speech) helps children whose tongue can't lift up or move side to side. Without that movement, sounds like T, D, N and L are hard, and speech stays unclear.

For these children, we use TalkTools and the Z-Vibe to build tongue strength and movement, always alongside real speech practice.

But speech delay has many causes. A late talker doesn't automatically need tongue exercises, and copying exercises from videos can take time away from what your child really needs.

✅ Assessment first
✅ Therapist decides
✅ Then the right therapy

Save this. Send it to a parent who's trying tongue exercises at home.

The most powerful speech therapy tool? A present father.

I asked my colleague, a speech therapist and a father, one question:

What role should dads play in a child's speech and language development?

His answer was simple: be present.

Not just physically in the room, but really there. Put the video game away. Sit on the floor. Play, talk, read, laugh.

Children don't learn language from screens. They learn it from faces, voices, and back-and-forth moments with the people who love them.

It's not only a mother's job. A father's role is equally important in a child's speech, language, and overall well-being.

Dads, your 20 minutes of undivided attention today could be the conversation your child remembers forever. 💬
