JUSTICE FOR ABDULLAH MAZHAR.
Last night, we lost our classmate, Abdullah Mazhar, a 3rd-year MBBS student at Allama Iqbal Medical College (AIMC), Lahore, in a tragic incident at the college swimming pool.
Abdullah knew how to swim. Yet, according to the accounts being shared, he remained underwater for over two hours before he could be recovered. Serious questions have been raised about the pool’s reported 16-foot depth, the lack of adequate lighting, the rescue response, and the safety arrangements in place.
What makes this tragedy even more painful is that reports circulating online allegedly misidentified Abdullah as a student from a private college. He was an AIMC student. He was a third-year MBBS student. He was our classmate. He was one of us. His identity deserves to be acknowledged, and his death deserves more than a passing headline.
This is not about spreading rumours or assigning blame without an investigation. It is about demanding truth, transparency, accountability, and answers.
How was this allowed to happen? Were adequate safety measures in place? Was the rescue response timely and appropriate? And who will be held accountable if negligence is established?
Abdullah deserves justice. His family deserves answers. And every student deserves a safe environment on campus.
Please share this post to ensure the correct information reaches the public and that these questions are not forgotten.
We demand answers. We demand accountability. JUSTICE FOR ABDULLAH MAZHAR.
