In 2013, when I first started tattooing, I came up with the name Pain Ting — a simple play on the word painting that connected two worlds: the one I was coming from and the one I was just beginning to explore.

I wanted the name and logo to reflect my artistic inspirations and the direction I hoped to follow — treating the body as a canvas and tattooing as another form of painting.

I later created this artistic interpretation of the logo for a tattoo convention in Hong Kong. After returning, the canvas remained unstretched in my studio for a very long time. Now, after all these years, it has finally been stretched, framed and hung on the wall — exactly where it belongs.

Looking at it today feels like looking back at the beginning of a journey that has shaped so much of my life. The ideas behind it are still present in everything I do, but they have grown and evolved through years of work, experimentation and experience.

I am deeply grateful to every person who has trusted me with their skin over the years. Without my clients, I would never have had the opportunity to develop my own visual language and find the artistic direction I follow today.
