Before a single tooth is set, the occlusion rims decide everything — the height of the smile, the plane of the bite, the space the new teeth will live in.
The numbers that make or break it:
▪️ Maxillary rim: 20–22 mm anterior height · 4–6 mm anterior width · 6–8 mm posterior width
▪️ Mandibular rim: 16–18 mm anterior height · 3–5 mm anterior width · 6–8 mm posterior width
▪️ Posterior height: 18 mm — occlusal plane at 2/3 of the retromolar pad
Get these right and the teeth almost set themselves. Get them wrong and no wax-try appointment can save you.

🔥Prosthetic retreatment with an FP1 approach for the maxillary arch, a fixed prosthesis for the lower arch using multidisciplinary approach in combination with an increase of VDO. Nowadays, we often need to restore implants many years ago. In these situations, our standard prothetic protocols cannot always be applied, as the available prosthetic components are often limited or incomplete.
In this case, I decided to maintain the molar in the maxillary arch. HOW MANY OF YOU AGREE WITH THIS DECISION?

This is why follow-ups matter. 🥹🤍

In May, a sports accident changed this smile in a second.

Tooth 11 → partial pulpotomy + MTA.
Temporary restorations first.
Then, at the next appointment, the final composite reconstruction based on a digital design.

And today — the follow-up. 🫶

Seeing this smile again made me genuinely happy.

Preserve what we can. Rebuild what we have to. Make it look like nothing ever happened.

One tooth. No room for compromise.

Restoring a single central incisor is one of the biggest challenges in anterior dentistry.

Four years after trauma, the goal was simple — to make the restoration disappear.

We started with internal bleaching - Opalescence , followed by a step-by-step adhesive reconstruction - digital design made by Ondřej Kovářík The neighbouring central incisor became our best reference for shape, anatomy and optical characteristics.

Cosmedent CO • GC Essentia LD • Inspiro Bi2, Bi1 • ICE • Estelite LCO • Orange tint • Cosmedent Opal • Estelite Asteria A2 • Estelite Asteria WE & NE
