I recently wrote a post on social media and its effects on a business and its success. In that post I highlighted the downsides to social media. Here is a counter-perspective on my previous post.
My previous post argues that businesses should prioritise foundations, results, loyal customers, long-term vision and sustainable business practices over social-media visibility. While these are all great areas of focus for a business and its foundations the weakness is that it creates a false choice: visibility and substance arenât opposites.
A strong business can need both!
Here are some opposing quotes you could use:
â Donât confuse visibility with vanity. A great business still needs to be seen.â
â Results build the business. Visibility helps people discover the business.â
â You can have the strongest foundation in the world â but if nobody knows you exist, itâs difficult to grow.â
â Social media doesnât replace the work. It amplifies it.â
â A strong business needs roots, but it also needs reach.â
â Being visible isnât pretending to be successful. Sometimes itâs simply making your success discoverable.â
â You donât build a business by choosing between substance and visibility. You build it by having both.â
What is your business approach to social media?
