🇹🇼 TAIWAN FOOD vs MY BLOOD SUGAR! 📈
🍚 EPISODE 2: LU ROU FAN (滷肉飯) — 老王煮瓜
Taiwan is famous for its delicious food, but have you ever wondered what happens to your blood sugar after eating a bowl of 滷肉飯? 🤔
Today, I'm using my Continuous Glucose Monitor (CGM) to test my body's response!
📊 MY ACTUAL RESULTS:
🟢 Starting glucose: 5.8 mmol/L
🔴 Highest reading: 10.1 mmol/L
🟠 Ending glucose: 7.7 mmol/L
📈 Total rise: +4.3 mmol/L!
That's approximately a 74% increase from my starting level! 😱
Does this mean 滷肉飯 is bad?
Not necessarily!
The white rice provides carbohydrates, which are broken down into glucose. Portion size, meal composition and individual metabolism can all affect the response.
What surprised me was how high my glucose climbed during this meal!
💡 MY TAKEAWAY:
It's not about avoiding all our favourite foods.
It's about understanding how our bodies respond, making informed choices and building healthier eating habits.
You can't always judge a meal by how healthy it looks. Sometimes, the numbers tell an interesting story!
