We have news to share from Spain! 🏆

MESI has been named second-place recipient in the Prevention & Public Health category of the Go4Health Awards 2026, for our efforts in prevention and early detection of PAD.

The MESI mTABLET ABI helps healthcare professionals measure the ankle-brachial index (ABI), a test used when assessing people at risk of peripheral arterial disease (PAD). Its automated measurement takes approximately two minutes, making it easier to include vascular assessment in routine care.

Today, more than 2,500 healthcare centres and hospitals across Spain use MESI mTABLET ABI.

Thank you to the Go4Health Awards for the recognition, and congratulations to our MESI Medical Iberia team! 👏

What can arterial age tell us about vascular health?

Chronological age tells us how many years a person has lived. Measured arterial age offers a different perspective by putting estimated arterial age into the context of values typically observed across different age groups.

Pulse wave velocity (PWV) reflects how quickly the pressure wave generated by the heartbeat travels through the arteries.

⚠️Elevated PWV values are associated with greater arterial stiffness, which may be present even in people without symptoms. Translating a PWV result into an estimated arterial age can offer clinicians and patients an intuitive way to interpret the measurement in the context of vascular ageing.

PWV and estimated arterial age can provide additional insight into vascular health alongside other risk factors and clinical findings.

Two days of learning, sharing and connecting at ARTERY26 in Split! 🇭🇷

Yesterday, our team led a hands-on workshop showing participants how to perform standardised pulse wave velocity (PWV) measurements using the MESI mTABLET ABI and PWV app.

Together, we covered everything from patient preparation and cuff placement to measurement quality, common artefacts and result interpretation.

Today, you can find us in the exhibition area, where the MESI team is ready to demonstrate the technology and answer your questions.

If you are attending ARTERY26, come and say hello! đź‘‹

PAD can be easy to miss, especially when symptoms are mild, unclear or mistaken for part of ageing. That is why the right measurements matter.

An Ankle-Brachial Index (ABI) measurement is an important first step in assessing blood flow to the legs. For some patients—including people with diabetes or arteries that are difficult to compress—a Toe-Brachial Index (TBI) measurement can add valuable information.

MESI mTABLET brings ABI and TBI together in one guided workflow, helping healthcare professionals build a clearer picture of a patient’s vascular health and identify the need for further care.

This PAD Awareness Month, let’s keep the focus on objective assessment and earlier detection.

Cardiovascular prevention starts before symptoms appear. đź’™

We welcome the growing European focus on prevention, early detection and screening in cardiovascular health.

We believe preventive assessment should be simple, accessible and seamlessly integrated into everyday clinical practice, especially for people at increased cardiovascular risk.

Technology alone cannot prevent cardiovascular disease, but the right diagnostic tools can help healthcare professionals identify risk and disease earlier, when timely action can make a meaningful difference.

We are proud to support a future in which prevention and early detection play an even greater role in cardiovascular care.

Europe’s biggest silent killer claims 1.7 million lives each year. The Safe Hearts Plan is the EU’s first cardiovascular health strategy, and Parliament wants prevention to be at the heart of it.🫀🤝

From Switzerland to the UK, it has been a busy week for the MESI team. 🌍

We have been meeting healthcare professionals and exchanging insights on cardiovascular risk detection, diabetes care and vascular assessment at three local events:
🇨🇭 The 10th SGAIM Autumn Congress in Switzerland, alongside our partner Medi-lan
🇬🇧 The Diabetes & Cardiology Regional Conference in Chelmsford, Essex
🇬🇧 The Wessex LMC Leg Assessment Day in Southampton, Hampshire, focused on ABPI and TBPI

These local events are valuable opportunities to learn about the everyday challenges healthcare professionals face—and to demonstrate how digital diagnostic solutions can support efficient assessments at the point of care.

Thank you to our partners, colleagues and everyone who stopped by to meet us!

What stands between a patient at risk of PAD and a timely diagnosis?

From recognising risk in primary care to deciding when specialist assessment is needed, opportunities for earlier detection can appear throughout the patient pathway.

Join Dr Nicolás Lorenzini Villegas and Assist. Nenad Čubrić, MD as they bring together the perspectives of primary care and vascular surgery to discuss what has changed in PAD detection, where gaps remain, and what could help connect care more effectively.

Vascular ageing should not remain a one-time research finding.

Professor Rosa Maria Bruno explains why arterial stiffness assessment holds promise for preventive care: it can be measured non-invasively, independently of the operator and repeated over time.

That creates an opportunity to move beyond isolated results and integrate vascular health more meaningfully into clinical pathways.

How do you turn a promising idea into a diagnostic solution that healthcare professionals use around the world?

At MESI, this has meant understanding how healthcare works in each market, building trusted partnerships and keeping the needs of healthcare professionals and patients at the centre of our development.

Our inclusion in Future 100 Slovenia is a proud milestone for our team. It also gives us a reason to reflect on the ambition, people and decisions that have shaped our international growth.

On 17 September, Timotej Vitez, who leads US market development and strategic partnerships at MESI, will share these experiences at the DMS B2B Centre.

Together with Andrej Klančar of Klančar žerjavi, he’ll explore how ambition translates into business decisions: when to invest, how to build a team for the next stage, and what it takes to enter new markets.

We look forward to an open conversation about the choices that helped us move forward and what we learned along the way.
📍 Triglav Lab, Ljubljana
📅 17 September 2026 | 17:00–19:00
The discussion will be held in Slovenian.

What does the speed of your pulse wave reveal about your arteries?

At this year’s ARTERY26 Training School, we’re putting Pulse Wave Velocity into practice. Join our hands-on session: Pulse Wave Velocity Assessment with MESI mTABLET: From Measurement to Interpretation

Participants will perform PWV assessments using the MESI mTABLET and follow a standardised measurement protocol, gaining practical experience from measuring to understanding the results.
