Strengthening Partnerships: Beyond Capacity Building!

Today, TENN welcomed Jimmy Bongo, a representative of GOAL Global, to its office for a reflection session focused on strengthening organizational capacity at the partnership level.

The session brought together the teams from TENN and GOAL Global to reflect on their partnership experiences, share perspectives, and openly express their feelings about working together. Through meaningful discussions, both teams identified their strengths, challenges, and existing gaps, creating opportunities for learning, growth, and improvement. One key takeaway from the engagement is that partnership goes beyond capacity building; it is also about building trust, nurturing relationships, encouraging open communication, and fostering mutual understanding.

At TENN, we believe that strong partnerships are built not only on organizational capacity but also on the relationships that sustain collaboration and drive meaningful impact.

Together, we continue to learn, grow, and build stronger partnerships for a greater impact.

Promoting Transparency and Productive Use of Energy in Kassire, Kambia District!

On Friday, 16th October, an assessment was conducted at the newly constructed Improved Energy Centre (IEC) in Kassire, Kambia District, to determine the eligibility of community members to own a business space within the facility.
A total of 14 community members qualified to participate in the assessment, which aims to promote transparency, fairness, and accountability in the selection process.

In addition, TENN engaged with community stakeholders to raise awareness of the importance of the assessment and its role in promoting the Productive Use of Energy (PUE).

This initiative marks another important step towards empowering local communities, strengthening participation, and ensuring the sustainable use of energy resources.

TENN at the 4th Africa-UniNet General Assembly

We are proud to share that our Chief of Operations, Dr. Paul T. Yillia, delivered the keynote address at the University of Saida, Algeria, during the Africa-UniNet General Assembly (Sept 28–30, 2026).

His keynote, “Translating Science into Practice – Key Stakeholder Categories within the Science-Policy Interface”, highlighted how science and research are the backbone of effective development policy.

Dr. Yillia emphasized Sierra Leone’s commitment to using innovative, evidence-based approaches to tackle socio-economic and environmental challenges—ensuring policies address root causes rather than symptoms.

The Assembly brought together partners from Austria and Africa to strengthen collaboration and update Africa-UniNet statutes, creating new opportunities for science-driven development across the continent.

Sierra Leone’s voice was clear: science must be translated into practice to accelerate Africa’s progress.
