DAY 3
Vrindavan AND Matura India
Vrindavan is celebrated as the sacred playground of Lord Krishna, where he is believed to have spent his childhood, tended cows as a young cowherd boy, and performed his divine leelas (pastimes) alongside Radha and the gopis. Located on the banks of the holy Yamuna River in the Braj region of Uttar Pradesh, this ancient town serves as the epicentre of Radha-Krishna devotion, attracting millions of pilgrims every year who are greeted by the omnipresent chant of "Radhe Radhe".
Due to strict security protocols, cameras, smartphones, smartwatches, and all other recording electronic items are completely banned inside the inner campus of the Shri Krishna Janmasthan.
What the Temple Complex Looks Like Inside
Since you cannot carry a phone inside, here is what the complex encompasses across its key structures:
• The Main Gate: Features an imposing red sandstone archway decorated with intricate stone carvings, Hindi inscriptions, and a striking sculpture of Lord Krishna and Arjuna on their chariot from the Mahabharata.
• Garbha Griha (Birth Cell): The most sacred spot in the complex. It is an underground, prison-like chamber with a marble pavilion slab marking the exact location where Lord Krishna is scripturally believed to have manifested.
• Bhagvata Bhavan: A massive, beautifully structured shrine dedicated to Radha-Krishna. The assembly hall is famous for its grand pillars and vibrantly colored ceiling frescoes that illustrate the complete biographical timeline of Krishna's life.
